I like Michael Fremer (at least, it looks like him). Very interesting and a great record!

Me too, but what was the conclusion ? Should I buy the new set or try to get the original records.
The video sort of finished 3 minutes early ??

I would need to listen on better than these computer speakers at work to get an idea of which I prefer.

Buy a set of new pressings and use the money saved to see the Stones play live.

Ok, having listened to it with a proper system, the first record sounds far better.

The mono one - I think! As you said, the video is incomplete so he doesn't confirm after playing the second record what it is.

I thought they were both mono?

That could be so. In which case, I missed what the difference is but the first play sounds better.

The first was an early first pressing, the second was from the new mono box set.

I only have one early Stones mono album, a copy of 'Aftermath'. It happens to be my favourite of all their records, so I know it well. My copy isn't mint by any means but it sounds excellent to my ears.

I don't own any original mono stones but this box set sounds excellent. Unless you want to spend months or even years tracking down expensive mint originals I would go for it. Very nice sounding set. If you listen to the video on Fremer's web site the original is marginally nicer but not enough to worry about.

both the mono & stereo boxes sound excellent , not compared to originals due to cost of mint ones
