The last show was the one with Robert Plant in it Steve. Tonight, it's Bryan Ferry, Paul Rodgers, The War on Drugs, Seinabo Sey and Laura Doggett.

Saw the last one first! Bryan F showing the rest the way with ageing gracefully and in distinguished fashion . No hair dye etc etc for him - refreshing. Took quite a few bars on the 2nd song for the band and Bryan to pull it together - but they did. I quite enjoyed Paul Rogers' performances too. Fuse ODG were pleasant enough too - perhaps I am just easy to please this evening... War on Drugs were very echoy! If David Gilmour was not who he is, I could see him doing the rounds at Scalford Senabo Sey - not my cup of tea, remote do your stuff. Her 2nd song was much better - Might investigate her. Laura Doggett bit quirky but I quite like quirky females and she had fine hands. The 'filler bands', most which seem to be utter dross (IMHO) in the past, have improved this year! Need to dig out episode 7 sometime.

Sam Smith cried of ill - no great loss IMO. Bands tonight (including Squeeze) were merely OK. However I only bothered with this to see RLJ who did not disappoint but could have had a bigger slot, much of which taken up by Jools interview.

Hmmm, I thought RLJ was a train wreck, as bad as when I saw her in London a short while ago - time to give it up IMO. My Morning Jacket are an outstanding live band, but this didn't come across at all on the show, which is a shame. Foals were great, Squeeze . . . meh. The outstanding act on the show for me were Kwabs, fantastic. A promising start to the series I reckon, apart from Squeeze and RLJ.

I thought Squeeze were pretty lame too but they weren't helped by the appalling sound quality.

My Morning Jacket were good, but didn't choose their best songs. Squeeze sounded their usual selves to me.
