I am using the IFI USB Silencer in one of the USB inputs. This is a surprising upgrade for not crazy money

I didn't think you were using USB, John? For files?

No I am still streaming for whatever reason its helping with the sound quality and difference is not subtle

So is the IFI in a spare input, not passing a signal? Are you using ethernet cable or wi-fi for streaming?

At present streaming via WIFI and yes just using on a spare USB input on its own Worth a try can always return if does not work for you, heck might even add a second one in the new year

Thanks, John. It reads well, rather like a plug-in mains noise suppressor. I'm going to try one.
Have you tried sorbothane feet under the Pi with a granite coaster on top? Works well to further improve the sound.

I played a CD today followed by the same tracks on Spotify. It's getting ever closer and damn nearly the same on very well recorded material. The DigiOne has brought Spotify within a whisker of my CD replay standard and that's just wonderful news for me.

Would make a great power filter product, stack 2-3 of them in a box, stick a supercap on the output and charge an arm n a leg . www.digikey.com/en/product-highlight/l/linear-tech/lt3042-psrr-low-dropout-volt-linear-regulatorIn many high end VCOs, power supply noise directly affects the VCO output phase noise (jitter). Moreover, to meet overall system efficiency requirements, the LDO usually post-regulates the output of a relatively noisy switching converter, so the high frequency power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) performance of the LDO becomes paramount. With its ultralow output noise and ultrahigh PSRR performance, the LT3042 can directly power some of most noise-sensitive applications while post-regulating the output of a switching converter, without requiring bulky filtering.

Some questions for the DigiOne owners here, as I am 'considering' a move from JRiver to Roon in the quest to simplify what I have and using the allo board/Pi as a Roon endpoint. So far I've heard/read nothing but praise for the DigiOne (John got me thinking when he said he chopped in the SOtM in favour of the Allo board). My questions are which version of the board do you have, I think 1.2 is the latest and have you experienced any issues with it stopping/switching off during playback due to ground/static issues? Some early boards suffered from powering down unexpectedly, but Johan at Allo has given good customer service in helping resolve this. Newer boards have had a choke removed, which it seems has addressed it. You guys had any issues like this and any comments generally re the DigiOne. Finally, has anyone tried using one as a Roon endpoint and if so what software did you use?
