Yep & not one single ounce of Snake Oil applied.
1. Bought the mat cos i have an obsession with Orange 2. Bought the Clamp cos i have the odd not flat record 3. Rewired the arm cos the original wire went bad 4. Fitted an RCA Socket mod cos the original connector was an intermittent pain in the rear 5. Looking for a nice lead with 90 degree connectors. Don't give two hoots about spec as long as it does the job & the connectors are high quality for reliability. 6. No flashy cartridge, 1970's cheap Technics with after market styli 7. Require a Speed change PSU because i exclusively play 12" singles, removing the platter all the time is a pain. No other reason.
So it's a B.S free Turntable that sounds absolutely wonderful. Absolutely no need for the Money people seem to want to spend on Turntable..

Very nice. What's the first arm? Also, is the arm board arrangement on the first image the original set up?

That armboard (2nd picture) is crying out for some other surface finish.

yes chris the 1st pic shows the original armboard (plywood),i just copied it to fit the alpahson,i may try an ebony board later down the line. the tt originally was sold back in 73 without a tonearm hence the easy removal of the board to fit you tonearm of choice, the other tonearm shown in my pic is a sony tonearm, very similar to the pua-114 except for the bias adjustment, from looking around the web and help from Andre it appears to be the tonearm from the sony ps2400 turntable. buying it was a leap of faith, but so far im very happy and since going direct drive i dont miss the lp-12 one bit some more info on the tt here, www.thevintageknob.org/pioneer-PLC-1700.html

Had it Ages. I just send the Orbit 2 back, it was causing excessive vibration on 45rpm, its a fine example as to why i wont entertain new Equipment.. Back to looking for an original Systemdek PSU. Slow Cooker The nic name for them at the time was 'Oil Rig' Just out of interest let me know if your motor vibrates when switching to 45 via press button on the supply!

Slow Cooker (rofl) The nic name for them at the time was 'Oil Rig' I always knew it as the biscuit tin. I preferred the look of the circular wooden one that Walker made.
