Listen to Generator by Justice on Qobuz open.qobuz.com/track/252300545This is pretty pumpy.. with a deep room shaking interlude a bit in. There's even a nice trad baseline for regular duty loudspeakers🙂 The whole album follows this trend too.

We chewed our way through all of The Mentalist - Marie loved it. Amazon introduced ads🙄 about 2/3 of our way though the 7 series.
Then The Gentlemen (Netflix) - humourously done with some blood spatter thrown in.
Now we are on to Fallout also Amazon. Remember the Boyd Crowder character in Justified - a little older and ghouler here🙂) Mr Goggins is the actors name! The leading lady is a Brit. From Whitechapel no less.
There are shades of that Subterranean series, where punishment is being put on the surface and everyone watching how far you get😏 (forget the name) and The 100 (Mount weather).
Amazon seem to have toned down the ads a bit. We complained. Perhaps many have!

Sorry to ask after all the time I have been here but why use Bubble player ? Is that the recommended controller for Rendu items ? I used the software on a phone many years ago but did not find it to be any advantage either sound quality wise or function over Logitech Media Server using Material Skin GUI. As there's no Qobuz connect (yet, or never will be) you have to use Bubble Upnp or mConnect. Sonore (Ultrarendu etc) actually recommend mConnect on their website but both work fine sound wise. UI preferences aside and speed of use seems to vary across the renderers... It all seems a stop gap solution to bridge the systems, to me - not joined up at all. Spotify connect works with Rendu but is not high enough quality to satisfy.

Colin Chapman didn't like it when customers specified paint on his cars. A bare aluminium 7 is 2kg lighter than a painted one.
You try and win back those 2 kgs with magnesium castings, CF etc.
Bare aluminium - absolute nightmare to keep clean.
V8 hehe, have to be a DFV then? Part of it rather than in it.

Look, in case I haven't made it crystal clear in my previous posts about cars, I enjoy driving and I love the aesthetics of good cars. Therefore I have no intention of buying a passionless enjoyment-free EV. You are right to save yourself for something special.. with that extra driving experience 😂 caterhamcars.com/en/models/evsevenOr if you must dull the experience with a roof and paint 🙄 www.lotuscars.com/en-GB/evijaHere's my pick - perfectly practical for the track 🏁🏎️ www.elmofo.com.au/electric-radicalJust watch those race start videos 😍

I haven't followed all the changes, but it seems you upset something somewhere Mike! Much offering to the Gods of streaming is essential 🙂
The DAC clicking thing between different resolutions is very Dac dependant. I've had DACs that do it. Fortunately Najda's DACs never do it.
Do you have Gustard U18 in-between Rendu and DAC? For me that makes no difference. No clicking.

Here's a fun one for you Martin. Abba with deep bass. I heard it on Swedish Radio and.. 20Hz at times and plenty of 30Hz and punch. Play loud and disco dance around that music room of yours Martin 🕺 😂 Molly Sandén is a respected current pop artist. I've not investigated what motived her to do this cover. Listen to Gimme! Gimme! I'd never see anything like this regarding a recording that feels like being at a concert until a friend invited me over for beers and to watch this. Dave Matthews with Tim Reynolds. 'Ehee' at 1:10:21 is truly magical and sounds like being there. www.youtube.com/live/GNmJoLyivIc?si=U5zSGQSj9Fr8NTikThis is great on the compression driver / horn loaded sound re-enforcement speaks. Really is live!

We took delivery of the screen today. It's big!
Wall mount arrives to tomorrow. As does the extra recliner sofa and two recliner chairs.
I connected the screen up to a Sonos Beam we have via EARC, and Najda / hifi 2 channel up via the optical out.
Even this crude non proper 5.2 setup sounds pretty amazing for films.
Real rumble, thunder and awe from the tapped horns! Clear audio voice etc from the SH50s. Sonos Beam doing essentially centre and L+R rear via a pair of Play 1s.
We test watched / listened to some of The Martian film. Must try one with more music, but that will be one the screen is up.
It will certainly do whilst we figure out what to do for a more proper 5.2, 6.2, 7.2🙂 solution.
Just need the low equipment rack now!
This currently leaves 2 channel Hifi setup completely unmolested.
I tested out more drum solos. The SH50 LF and Tapped horns really kick and work in unison well.

Cleared the room. Using the 2 seater sofa and the 2 sheepskin chairs and associated stools, I laid the room out.
Was able to sit in all positions to assess the sound. Used Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds, kind of Cinematic with Richard Burton's voice etc. Horsell Common and the Heat Ray sounded epic! The lid coming off me daughter jump.
These speakers give such a good coverage and stereo even sitting way out wide - bodes well.
Also assessed how high the rear seats need to be above the front. It's not much as the screen will be quite high up. 65" TV is perfect size.
With the Velux blinds down and door shut it is dark, dark black in there, even when bright & sunny outside!
Daughters are already talking mood lighting!
I'm getting an usher's (remember them) torch😂

You had furniture to each side where the seats will go, Steve. Are they going to be removed? Yes, it will be minimalist. I've already started clearing it out. Amazing how much 'useful' stuff you collect. SP-10 and Fidelity Research FR64s arm to go on sale. Our daughters are very excited. They've been wanting us to do it for years. Just required the right speaker catalyst.

Plan idea. To scale. These are individual recliners. Will work fine for what's called viewing reclining rather than full recline - we'll see. The footprint half reclined is shown. Moving the SH50s back again 🙄 would give a bigger screen clear line of site. Gear can go under the screen or off to the left. Haven't put the rear speakers in. I'm looking at Denon AV receivers. I'm motivated and going to have a clear out in the room and move the 2 seater recliner we have into test position. We have two Scandinavian sheepskin, Beech chairs up there as well. So a test siting or sitting is easy. Will see how big a compromise an off centre listening spot is. Nothing like as big a problem with the SH50 compared to the beamier round horns. With their time alignment needs they really were only sweet in one spot. Not so the SH50s.

Right! New project😀 Hifi room and.... Home cinema room! The whole family have expressed an interest in family movie times🙂 Esp in a purposed AV experience. A 65" or 70" TV will fit on the front wall. Something like 3 of these abreast, in 2 rows seats 6. Rear row on raised platform to give cinema experience to rear row. Or Still leaves room down the side to access and listening spot for hifi only.. The Danley SH50s are perfect as Left, Right and the AV boys say no centre required. Tapped horns as subs.. 2 cheapies are rears. A 5.1 AV would split the cinema sound off to Najda (doing X/O etc duty) for SH50 L and R. Perhaps a separate sub woofer would make it easier, driven from AV receiver directly, same for rears. Tapped horns amp would be off then. AV receiver off, and Najda input selecting Rendu all would be as normal. Apparently/reportely Bill Gates and George Lucas etc use SH50s in their Danley home cinema systems - got me thinking...

Yes, once visionary CEOs get complacent / lose their way.
Mind you, we are hardly their target audience. I can't prise my daughter's or their boyfriends away from Spotify, no matter what! They do send me podcasts to listen to from time to time! All sorts of interesting subjects too. Different strokes...
