Off and On
Had the Rendu and Adaptor off while I was fiddling with mains. Safety first.
Back to streaming, or not
Same as the other day
Rendu seen, working and causing a 'click' on the TAD when I asked the tablet to play, stop, start and other, but no music
Rebooted tablet. Same
What haven't I tried ?
Turning off the TAD (DAC Pre)
Well that won't work but I'll try anyway

Certainly new to me so there are 'things we don't know' I usually add a layer of interest in most things I do and this is another The TAD DAC has 5 other inputs besides DAC. CD and 4 other digital inputs I often use CD, and one or two other digital inputs. Looks like it needs a reminder to be a DAC sometimes. Much better than when I first had the Rendu where it seemed to need to be on 'DAC' before the Rendu would even think about it |

These things don't happen to me very much at all as I leave all my source components on all the time.
Instead of preamp off/on, you could try just switching away from CD and back again?

Mad Scientist goo to spread around so there will be more fiddling
Have you tried it on grounding box connections or SFPs ?

Looks like that adaptor is faulty
Could not see the Rendu from the tablet even after multiple reboots of everything
Changed adaptor - came up right away

Looks like that adaptor is faulty Ah, that's a shame. Did it still sound better than the other one the last time you swapped it in? Ideally, you need an EtherREGEN in that position. There might be a few for sale coming up soon. |

Difficult to know if faulty as intermittent Best guess is faulty with hours between failure No problems when the other one is in I will keep my eyes open for an EtherREGEN ! |

Working through the system with the Mad Scientist goo
One at a time and test listen, don't know why, something in my nature I guess
All Coherent BD cables
TAD D-1000\CD\DAC\Pre mains, TAD M2500 mains, XLR connecting the two
Each time there was more separation and clarity from the instruments, more flow in the music.
Very nice result
That's it for now as I'm in need of a rest from the extreme yoga needed to get the cables in and out.
As for the dust, another job coming up soon.

First album on the playlist confirms the improvements brought about by the SR Purple fuse and the Mad Scientist goo.
Haven't even finished with the MS yet so even more to come when I can bear to stop the music.
More welly in the bass is the most impressive, bass lines now more clearly there, mid range more solid, detail, separation.
The A / B testing was very impressive
Wondered if the album playlist would be that noticeable around 2 weeks since last heard.
It is. More than I expected

The sound is staggeringly good Mostly that bass but not on its own I did a complete run-through of my entire system with Mad Scientist graphene cleaner not so long ago and it really did clarify everything, including the noticeable bass that you're hearing. It's good stuff and you only need a tiny amount. |

Would it sound different to the

I love the sound of the Uilleann pipes, and there's nobody better. It's Davy playing the pipes on my favourite Traffic track, "The Holy Ground", and again with Steve Winwood on this track, Forever Frozen, which turns up on various "Celtic" Various Artists type albums and is taken from Davy's "A Place Among The Stones" album. |
