Heh, heh, it gets better next.
I remain puzzled at this attachment to LMS that is way too complex for streaming and, as we found out, doesn't sound as good as DLNA anyway.

I really enjoyed the day with your system, Mike.
Those steps we took were very rewarding and followed much of what we've been saying about building a digital system. So good to hear those clear increments in sound quality.
You made the right choice with the Rendu, it's a stunning bit of kit. I've never heard your system sound so good by the end of yesterday.
Now to really sort your dodgy 4G. I think a professionally installed external aerial could be on the cards.

It was a good day.
On my own for the evening so music all the way
Not quite the plan though
Various problems with things computery not working properly.
Managed to grab Jon Hopkins - Singularity and played that later than I ought before bed time
Suspected the router especially as Three emailed to say they were doing maintenance - performance not affected - they said. Maybe they lie.
Meant to say above MartinT brought his own Three router and performance was about as bad as mine.
Good and bad news means we are stuck with what we have until we find another fix or Three improve the service.
Next door have Three and up to 60Mbps on a good day.
Router was moved from a corner facing a brick wall to glass outside door and improved.
Previously had been little different

This morning
Not good. All sorts of computery stuff not working right.
Many reboots, turn offs and tiddling around
Performance from the router poor and probably causing the problems by strangling the signal
Router used to work fine in the corner so back it goes
Everything off. Walk the dogs
All back on
From lost connection up to around 3Mbps I now have 24Mbps and good sound
More to come.

As t'internet was rubbish today was CD day.
Last on was Gerry Rafferty - On a wing and a prayer - a favourite and currently in the album playlist
Testing for t'internet I went to Bubble for the same album and to my delight I played it from Qobuz / Bubble / Sig
Main impression
Sounded slower, vocals more deliberate than the CD
Not better or worse, different.

Well glad you got your streaming to the same level of the TAD. More to come if you find the right DCC and/or clock if you wish to push this further

Delighted and puzzled with the sound quality
More detail, more bass, more width
On CD
Must have tweaked something with the streaming mods that makes a difference to the rest of the system
Only change is mains cables that were plugged into the conditioner, one end only, not connected to kit are now connected to the conditioner and streaming kit that is currently turned off
Any sound quality improvements required therefore - fiddle about with things
Must buy that lottery ticket

I tend to always tidy up and never leave dangling cables (power or signal) connected at one end, it's bad practice for noise induction.

They were connected both ends. Didn't notice any drop off when disconnected at one end
Point taken. I may have another to disconnect and will take a good look around and tidy up further as well
I'll take the boost in sound quality
I bet many good systems have a rat's nest of cables around them

Was expecting to check out various and report back but as luck would not have it
Three are working locally and I'm losing t'internet on a regular basis so rather pointless trying to compare when I'm cut off
Earlier on I tried Qobuz on the Bluesound and it was surprisingly good
A very brief try on the Sonore and it sounded better
Then I was cut off in my prime so no more for a while
CDs sounding wonderful

Whatever Three did hasn't worked in my download speed
Just checked - 7.9Mbps
Can't get the Sonore to work properly so I went back to the Bluesound
Using the playlist as a check
Playing some hours apart Bent sounded good
Next up Gerry Rafferty - On a wing and a prayer track 1
Sounds good, not as I remember it, perhaps a different release .... ?

Next move is to get an aerial to add to the mobile broadband, get a decent download and the Sonore working

All these are problems I never see. You really have to sort out your dodgy internet connection.
