Just over a week since I last ran through the playlist First album playing.
Slightly more completeness to the sound, touch more detail and some more bass, perhaps a touch more width Very seamless, joined up sound
More music
Nice

Another step up in sound with more detail, separation, width Seems the Grounding boxes are grounding - and giving more music
How many grounding boxes is too many I wonder ?

I know each system different but I found I had to be careful with how many I used so intially I got carried away with it all and had quite a few in the system and found I had to strip back to a point I felt more comfortable with the sound

Yet to try pulling the grounding boxes out and checking the sound but I'm wondering about buying more as my guess is they all seem to work - with plenty of doubling

Intriguing results from the current run through the album playlist
More going on. Instruments being given their own voice and wonderfully separated from the melee they had been in previously. Previously instruments were 'there'. Now often the system is giving me the instrument on each channel. Listening carefully there are often subtle clues as to this being recorded separately Not the same on every album Some have a lot more bass
Additional weight on the kit or grounding on the grounding boxes ? Could be one or both Sounds fantastic

Part way through adding weight to various equipment to find out if sound is improved. Certain albums delivering incredible results even if they seemed so so on quality before Latest surprise Joe Perry, self titled 2005 This is *not* like an Aerosmith album BTW YouTube music.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_lwJCXuMtJ19DLUwR2J5RWLEsBWdkqCBRYor have the grounding boxes grounded more ....

Back on the album playlist underlines the improvements gained from more weight on kit More hidden subtleties now being heard. Music more joined together, flowing
Going from not having quite enough granite placemats and coasters to place on kit I now have a lot.
Thinks
The Tour is on and I'm watching hours a day via Tivo. I chase the live programme and jump through the ads Borrowed a placemat from the Tivo a long while back Two just fit on the top. While I'm at it I can spare some RDC cones under the Freeview box
Picture better, sound slightly better .....

The system continues to reveal more and more. Unfortunately it can reveal the not so good
I was looking forward to Blue States - First Steps Into...
joining the album playlist, poppy
Not good
Also described as Downtempo Alternative/Indie Rock Trip-Hop Dream Pop Electronica Ambient Pop
How does it sound to you ?

Terrible. Compressed with overdone levels in the treble. Distorted.
Handy that the music does nothing for me.

Wondered if my ears or brain had gone So used to hearing more rather than how much they messed it up Be interested to hear the other one or two Blue States I have when they come up

Bought a stack of new to me CDs. Some I might realise I shouldn't have and some stunners. Too early to know for sure as they change magically, or possibly with familiarity ... Back to the playlist and enjoying all of them Got to the first Jon Hopkins albums and found Opalescent Contact Note had reached their enough listens so back to their place in the rack Assumed that would carry on through the rest or most. No Insides - lives to play another day. Very surprised to find How I live now Immunity Asleep versions EP Late Night tales all sound fantastic A little puzzled and very happy No changes to system ....

Immunity is stunning and goes on quite often.
You can hear that tomorrow if you like?

So how does the MartinT system, streaming Qobuz compare to the MikeMusic system on CD ? Difficult to find all the right words What is not in doubt is the amount of bass in MartinT system. The midrange is more to the fore. Slightly more separation of instruments. Tiny bit more trail in and decay of notes More attack and more dynamic This system is gentler and smoother not such precise detail maybe - which young HD Music & Test has worked on to give me what my ears want Both excellent set ups anyone would be happy with Will add more if I think of them

We all have our differences in what we prefer. I always learn from visits reflect and on the odd occasion adapt. It think what was great was that two friends could chat play some music and enjoy a few hours together

Have you made up your mind as what you want to do. If I was you I would try streaming first before selling anything. You have some nice gear and such a change is best done in steps

Working on what to do. Still no rush Router may need to be improved or moved Seems like YouTube can't be in the mix, which is a shame unless I stream from my laptop and take a hit on sound quality Surprised everything I asked for was on Qobuz Twas a good time for two 'special' people

Maybe scope out a streamer to which you can Chromecast / Airplay the audio. That's what I do on the UK system and it works extremely well.

For a quality simple and easy to use streaming introduction with the GUI thats great to use and it just works spot on then The Blue node 3 is very hard to beat and it sounds surprisinly good. If tou like later then these is a DC conversion for it and power supply. I had a customers running in in my own system. If I were just streaming to explore new music and not a tech heavy person then it would be in the top 3 no question.
