On the subject of adaptors
I've run out of sockets
Massively over supplied with sockets when we refurbed in 2009
Now under supplied and a bit
Furniture was placed in the room as we over populated with more stuff so I'm looking behind various
First up gives me an extra socket ! - an old style lighting socket. Different circuit, switched by light switch
I'll be trying a grounding box in one of them when I work out how to do it
Stunning amount of dirt and dust behind one place. Next to it hardly any. Seems odd
System sounding wonderful

Another QA grounding box
Can't get better surely and these things need to settle
Test track. Already sounds wonderful
QA plugged in
Touch more detail especially top end. Music more joined together and flowing
Mostly it sounds louder, without touching the volume I must add. More dynamic range ?
Noticeable difference
This is set up
Real test in a week or two when they may well have settled in, or not, who knows

Today.
Another QA grounding box tried out
Same test track. Better than yesterday ?
Could be.
QA plugged into earth socket of different, lighting circuit in the same room.
This is a punt. I am completely open to whether or not this works
Different circuit to the system, physically about 2 metres away
Not certain about this one
Seems louder. Think there is more detail, bass.
Box left to settle and more testing in a week or so

Last of the arrivals to test
Same track as before. Sounds even better.
Are the grounding boxes grounding .... ?
4th and final QA grounding box croc clipped to the earth block in the kitchen.
This makes a total of 3 connected to that earth block
Negative expectation
Can't work can it ?
Seems to, straight away
Mostly in sounding louder, touch more detail I think
Will leave in place to ground itself in and test in a week or so
How many grounding boxes is too many you have to wonder and should I change the medication ?

Funny you should say that it had occurred.
I'll see how the testing goes in a week or so and work out what I test next
This is actually a fail as all the grounding boxes are working in the first place I put them. Wasn't expecting that at all
Grounding rules still to make themselves clear to me

I had to keep grounding boxes one per circuit
In my case I no longer hear mains issues in my system
A cheap solution to what was driving me nuts

These mods have revealed greater depths to the music.
Amazing in some, pretty good in others
The not so good news
No improvement, sounds muffled and badly made, on CD at least

My only fail (but possibly worth trying again sometime) was attempting to ground the master clocks. That didn't sound at all good. Grounding the analogue components (power amp, speakers) just resulted in no change that I could hear. Grounding digital components? Incredible! i can hear no impact on them on the analogue side either. I have reorganised the racks and I have left a CAD box connected to the phono-stage and speed controller / PSU for the record deck just because I have it. There is another on the streamer, which is on the same rack. The third unit grounds the Lector DAC and the TP DAC on the other rack. One BR Eflos is on the AQVox switch and a second is on the Fidata server and there are 2 on the sub 'cos I had a left over RCA equipped one. |

All my 5 Steve Hillage CDs sounded poor which worried me slightly Had the grounding boxes wrecked the sound ? Bajofondo Tango Club put my mind at ease Fantastic sound. Width, depth, bass, detail. Loud !  Phew |

Even the boss noticed - from the next room (!) - and said it sounded good

Running through my well known album playlist confirms there are good things going on here
All sorts being revealed that weren't heard before
Vocals clearer, often what used to be one voice is now two or more, as it was recorded in the studio
What was one instrument has become one or more on each channel
Greater separation is causing a lot of this
Diction clearer
More music being delivered

What a fantastic sound coming from the system
Bajofondo, Rick Springfield and Bent have previously hidden depths in the music
Rooted in my chair and I have things to do elsewhere
Found more weights to put on top of the new grounding boxes !
Might even test before and after
