I just did a similar experiment Mike
I had a more expensive square grounding box plugged into the spur that also feeds the Gustard
Tried my DIY attempt a backwards step everything a bit more vague.
XL Aucharm better than both but not a lot in it between the unknown box
Thanks Mike I would of never of tried this without your experiments

After 20 mins difference is not subtle. More depth and hearing details I did not know we're on the recording
XL Aucharm beats both by a noticeable margin

I meant to ask: are you using the cables supplied with each box, your own cables or some other mix? Are you swapping boxes and cables together? Think I know but need to check before I confirm tomrrow |

Mike with grounding boxes I found more than 1 a backward step In this case more is not always better I'm working out where I can sensibly put more. One on the earth block and one in a mains socket in this room seems essential Trying a SP in the conditioner and an SP on Tivo and maybe other places |

Anywhere is my current thought !
Refining that over the next day or three
Sound quality with two QA boxes in place is close to what it was before I started swapping and disconnecting but I think there is more to come.
Cables in play right now :
SP Alibaba in the kitchen on the earth block
QA in the mains socket next to the system
QA boxes using both
SP boxes still disconnected
Cable fiddling and swapping is on my list

These immediate effects are a big surprise to me. Not what I expected at all, especially as they took so very long to come on song |

Sorry, I should have been clearer: their overall effect should be similar in taking noise out of the system.
Their method of going about it is different.

My thought is what they do to get them to work.
From what I have seen of the insides of both they are different but I wonder if there are overlaps

Today's comparisons
System with both QA boxes in place
Great sound
System with both QA boxes disconnected
Thinner treble and mid, bloated bass, slightly muffled.
Messy, muddled mixed up sound, harsh. Step or two down. Enjoyment down.
QA box connected to kitchen earth block
Step up. Improved clarity, better bass. Easier listen. Doesn't seem to be as good as first listen with both QA boxes.
QA box plugged into socket next to system, both QA boxes working
Nice. Bass filled out, more clarity, diction clearer, more musical, (toe tapping even !) separation a step up.
Not going back !
Silent Point box plugged into Audio Magic Conditioner earth
'Louder', more going on, background brought forward, more enjoyable, more together. Wondering how many guitars are on this track now....
Silent Point box plugged into RCA on the always on, assumed to be noisy and dirty Tivo
Small step up in clarity, separation, background brought forward. Drums being hit harder !

and I wonder what the sound will be like tomorrow when they have settled

Vertex AQ Jaya mains filters
Another day another comparison
Wondered if they had helped the grounding boxes improve the system sound
System sounding wonderful, better I think. Perhaps settled overnight from yesterday's changes to the grounding boxes.
Listen
2 Vertex AQ Jaya mains filters on opposite sides of the room turned off and unplugged just in case
Listen
Sound slightly less 'complete'. Difficult to describe precisely, aspects missing from before.
Both Vertexes plugged back in and turned on
Listen
Now I can work out what was missing.
More body in the music, touch more detail and bass. 'Nicer' to listen to.
Definitely keepers
Confirmed: System has taken a step up since I swapped the Silent Points with the QA Premiums
The Silent Points work. The QAs are better

Last night I plugged in my Vertex AQ Jaya into the socket opposite the system, same as you. It didn't sound worse and I had the impression of more smoothness and easiness on the ear.
I'll leave it there. I'll treat the pins to some graphene contact enhancer for good measure.

Cut short today by a power cut for a few hours
While I had no power I took the opportunity to unplug and plug in all power plugs in the system and the room.
Sounding excellent now.
Didn't realise how cold I had become
