I just heard about Jimmy. He was a favourite of mine, ever since I picked up "A White Sport Coat and A Pink Crustacean" in the seventies. He was a poet.
He was a real talent, but never achieved the status I thought he should have. I only saw him live once, with his band "Wonderwheel".
I thought Spooky Tooth would be big
RIP Gary

Ackland was married to his wife Rosemary for 51 years before she passed away in 2002. He is survived by his seven children, 34 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Shane MacGowan has finally reached the end of his road to self-destruction. Best of luck to anyone else who was hoping to have the Christmas #1 this year.
