RIP Mister Loaf. Jeanette, my late wife, used to love him, and I must admit to being a bit of a fan myself. Partnered with Jim Steinman the production values were stratospheric and the productions cinematic. He also surrounded himself with superb musicians.
I wonder how many of you, if any, remember this though, from 1971...
"Stoney," was Shaun "Stoney" Murphy, and it was released on Rare Earth, a subsidiary of Motown, and also, featured the famous Motown "Funk Brothers".
No, for once it's not one I bought, but I remember seeing the review of a single from the album - "What You See Is What You Get" - being released, and for some reason, their name stuck with me.

RIP Norma Waterson Her name might not mean a lot to many, but with a large chunk of my past rooted in the folk club scene, it means a lot to me.

I am pretty shocked to hear tonight, of the loss of Mark Lanegan. One of my favourite tracks by him is aptly titled.
"When that chain starts to swing, Keep in mind one thing, Don't forget me dear"

RIP Pete St. John, who died in the Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, on 12 March 2022, aged 90.
I learned this, his most famous song, from Paddy Reilly and was playing it in folk clubs long before my fellow LFC supporters got hold of it and made it one of their anthems.
Rest easy, Pete, and thank you.

Me and my new bride saw the original lineup of Procol Harum in Denver, Colorado in 1972 in a university auditorium.
Absolutely stunning concert that is well remembered to this day.
Gary maintained a high level of performing and writing through several iterations of the band on up to his end... will always be a huge fan.
RIP, Gary...

RIP Ric Parnell, drummer iwth Atomic Rooster and Spinal Tap amongst others.
Ric was a Facebook "friend" and I knew he was very unwell. He'd been in was in Providence Hospital receiving palliative care and his ex-partner, McKenzie, told us in late April that he would love to hear from anyone who had known and loved him.
Ric joins that long list of Spinal Tap drummers who are no longer with us.
