Jacque Loussier seems to have passed, though there is a fake news site claiming that reports of his death are a hoax. Why anyone would joke about that is beyond me A site named slippeddisc.com appears to be reporting it, with zero details, and Wikipedia has been edited to reflect his "death" but other than those two instances I can find no mention of his passing. It appears to be a most unsavoury non-joke, and, as you say, beyond reason.

R.I.P. Hal Blaine, a.k.a. " the greatest drummer ever." Here's an absolutely ridiculous list of things Hal played on...It's a partial list, consisting of hit singles and the occasional noteworthy album. It is useful to remember that Blaine was also the drummer on many of the albums that these singles were taken from. OBIT

Sad to hear of the loss of Dick Dale.
His first single was released in 1961 and he was still playing live until just before his death. He was a massive influence on so many guitarists - Hendrix, SRV, van Halen... Fender had to create a special amp for him because their standard models couldn't cope with the intensity if his playing style. JBL had to go back to the drawing board to redesign their speakers for him. He used to melt his plectrums by playing so hard!

I was very sad to hear we've lost another great guitarist, Irish rocker Bernie Tormé. He was 66 years old. Tormé’s family confirmed the news to Variety in a statement. “ [Tormé] had been on life support for the past four weeks at a London hospital following post-flu complication.” OBIT

That's a name I hadn't heard for a long time! A very respected guitarist indeed ...

I first saw Bernie at Manchester Apollo 9/10/79, with Gillan on the Mr Universe Tour. It was a day or 3 before the album came out. Great gig - the whole band were in fine form.
Bernie will be remembered fondly from these quarters.

Tragic. Sadly, we are losing the legends at a greater rate than new ones are arriving.

Psychedelic guitarist Roky Erickson, whose work both as a solo artist and as a member of The 13th Floor Elevators deeply influenced rock, punk, and metal, had died, according to both Austin360 and Variety. He was 71. OBIT
