Forty or something years ago Hugh Masekela was playing the iconic trumpet on this. I never knew until today.

A shame. I never really liked the music, but admired the man's work.

I've only just learned of the death of Liam O'Flynn, master of the Irish uilleann pipes. Kate Bush, Enya, Mark Knopfler, John Cage, Mike Oldfield, Emmylou Harris, Sinéad O’Connor and the Everly Brothers were among the artists whose albums benefited from his playing. May you be in Heaven a full half hour before the Devil knows you're dead. Liam. Grauniad Obit

Danny Kirwan, the former Fleetwood Mac guitarist who played on five of the British band's albums passed on Friday 08/06/18 at the age of 68. Mick Fleetwood, who recruited the then-18-year-old Kirwan to join Fleetwood Mac in 1968, confirmed Kirwan's death with a tribute on the band's Facebook page. No cause of death has been announced. The one track I'll always remember Danny for is Dragonfly, which he both wrote and sung. OBIT

R.I.P. Jon Hiseman. Jon played with Colosseum, Colosseum II and The Graham Bond Organisation amongst others, and lately JCM, a new-ish project with Clem Clempson and Mark Clarke. They have just released their first album. Jon's " About The Band" piece on JCM's website is made all the more poignant by his passing. OBIT

I've always liked his interpretations. Me too, I have a lot of his Rachmaninov interpretations, Symphony No. 2 is especially good.
