Colour Out Of Space. Rather disappointing in the end. It wasn't a bad film, I just think I was expecting too much. Of course, the film is at somewhat of a disadvantage from the off, as the basis of the story revolves around a colour that is both unknown, and indescribable. That is impossible to achieve on screen. It was the Pinkish Purple Out Of Space in the end. Nicholas Cage did hid usual excellent "man unravelling," act; this time on steroids, with, possibly, a dollop of mescaline on the side. Joely Richardson veered between serene and insane, sometimes in the same line of the script. The kids (and I generally hate kids in films, especially American kids) were great. Maybe it's because the two young teenagers were actually played by actors in their twenties, Madeleine Arthur and Brendan Meyer. I could definitely have handled a bit more of Tommy Chong too. So, not a bad film, not a great film. Some of the "animals" reminded me a lot of Carpenter's dogs in "The Thing," you'll see why if you watch it. As a Blu-ray it was a horrendous letdown. I spent ages trying to sort the sound out until I discovered that it's the first Blu-ray I've ever bought that defaults to "stereo" and 5.1 is an option on the menu. Secondly, there was not one single "extra" to be found. You get the film. End of story. I should have waited for the price to drop to something like a fiver, next year.

Parasite is a great film but is really getting milked now.
A six-part TV series starring Tilda Swinton, a graphic novel based on the film’s storyboards, with the black and white version of the film due later this month.

Well yes and no I think Jules. I won't be interested in the TV series, but I would like to see the B&W version. There will be more people that haven't seen it because it's a FL film than have, so it gives those a chance to perhaps experience what will become an all time classic. So personally I feel it's a good thing if it brings attention to Korean art and culture as well as highlighting how astonishingly talented Bong Joon-ho is. He deserves more recognition and this is worthy of further attention a lot more than some of the Marvel pap The acid test will be how well they adapt it for the small screen, but it won't ever be as good as the original for me.

Surely even Marvel fans have grown tired of this incessant celluloid bilge?

Surely even Marvel fans have grown tired of this incessant celluloid bilge? Some of it's OK Jules - Black Panther is very good. Some of it isn't though, Thor Ragnasnot didn't work for me at all, walked out of that one

Yep I enjoyed Panther.
It's just the sheer volume of it now, it's a conveyor belt ...

I struggled with this too, didn't live up to my expectations - just no real substance to the story and I didn't believe in any of the characters. Shame really, as visually it's good.

I struggled with this too, didn't live up to my expectations - just no real substance to the story and I didn't believe in any of the characters. Shame really, as visually it's good. I devoured H.P. Lovecraft's stories when I was younger, and I've never yet seen a half-decent portrayal of one of them on film. Possibly the best attempt(s) were in the old TV series "Night Gallery." They did a decent " Pickman's Model," as I remember, but even that ended up falling back on the ubiquitous "bloke in a rubber suit," in the end.

Mike is that the Brothers Grimsby with Mark Strong and Sascha Cohen? That is hilarious.
I'd take issue though with the inclusion of the word "innuendo" in your post Mike lol.
I felt that the overtly graphic unintentionally homosexual behavior between the two brothers occurred early and often and at times bordered on pornographic lol.
Its a hilarious film and quite charming with some good chemistry between the two leads, and if you like close ups/multiple angles of a man sucking the snake venom out of his brothers coin purse in a spirited attempt to save his brothers life then you will certainly enjoy this film.
