I've just discovered that one of my all-time favourite little cult films is on Amazon, for free. Split Second (1992) stars the incomparable Rutger Hauer, along with Kim Cattrall, Neil Duncan (as Dick Durkin. No really.) Michael J. Pollard, Alun Armstrong, Pete Postlethwaite, and Ian Dury amongst others. Unstable behaviour? Rutger Hauer? I don't believe it. I won't say anymore, except that there is a phrase in common usage today that might have been used in a movie for the first time here. It predates the game Doom, with its "BFG" by a year. Big F*cking Guns," - you (possibly) heard it here first folks, courtesy of Dick Durkin. I'm going to thoroughly enjoy rewatching what turned into a "classic" for Jeanette and me, although I fear it might look terribly dated by today's standards. But I don't care.

I watched this the other night, all the way to the end (amazingly). How on earth did the director manage to make such accomplished actors perform like complete, and utterly talentless, amateurs?!

That's half of the appeal, Pete. It's so bad it's good, or we thought so anyway. We laughed all of the way through it as I remember.

It scores a 6 on IMDB. Kim Cattrall, though

Bullet Train was a good romp, half Guy Ritchie, half Tarentino some dry laughs and entertaining

Police Academy? Porky's? I'd sooner attack my eyeballs with a cheese grater and rinse out the resultant detritus with lemon juice.

That's not fair, Paul. Shirley you were distracted during Police Academy. I'd say give it another go? It's either that or Super Troopers. Choose wisely, sir, choose wisely indeed.

Goodness me, that was a pile of incomparable dreck. Never mind B-list, is there an 'F' available? I lasted not even 10 mins. Was the audio recorded through a Pringles tube?

First saw this when I was about 10. Still think it's pretty remarkable:

The amazing Ray Harryhausen. He was a man ahead of his time.

Last chance on Prime to see The Counselor.
It's a Ridley Scott film, with a fantastic cast and superb ensemble acting. Cameron Diaz as a very bad bitch.
A slow burner, building up to a horrifying ending.
Did I say it's a Ridley Scott film?

Available for 3.99. I'll get it this weekend. It's been years since I've seen it.
I'm mortified that no one anywhere has seen his latest film 'The Last Duel'. Aside from reading reviews I've not seen a single discussion of it anywhere.
