The 2nd series of True Detective was outstanding, too.
I hear what you're saying, but some series didn't derive from films yet are filmic in their quality: Game of Thrones and Battlestar Galactica, for instance.

Couldn't get on with True Detective... tried it a couple of times but just doesn't appear to be for me.

I began watching 'Damages' recently on Netflix and so far I have been really enjoying it, it jumps about a bit but has a nice set of twists and the lead is played by Glenn Close who I think is an excellent but sometimes overlooked actress... well worth a watch.

Blindspot is quite good so far (I've only seen the first 3 episodes) and it barrels along at a terrific pace. The premise that drives the show makes it a bit like The Blacklist at times but it's not a copy, it certainly seems to have its own identity.

Agreed (but sometimes you need subtitles for McConnaughey's drawl), however the trio of Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn (a surprisingly powerful performance) and Rachel McAdams is extremely good, too.

Hmm, tattoo'd lady eh? Not so very keen on tattoos personally. Popular they are though. Might give Blindspot a go. If it is anything like Person of interest we won't get far

The Night Of has started very well. Talk about a situation going out of control very fast. Creepy and compelling.

The classic "Westworld" has been revised and updated for the small screen.
Tuesday at 9 (I think) on Sky Atlantic.
Anthony Hopkins amongst the cast.

Westworld is already set to record on my box. The Night Of has proven quite compelling so far.

I thought the last ever series (S6) had been broadcast? If so, I've seen them all.

The Night Of is an American rework of the BBC's Criminal Justice. I think it works particularly well because they've kept the quirky elements that humanise the lawyer, which would have been easy to lose in translation. Not convinced by the speed of the fall from innocence of the suspect though. Netflicks are consistently making some good originals; thoroughly enjoyed Stranger Things and Wayward Pines. Look out for The Fall series 3

Well we are still watching Blindspot. The Fall series 3 has started. Back to gritty UK drama. Lots of long scene shots (adds drama and I presume keeps costs down ) and more realistic repercussions of a shoot out. Still got some episodes of Wayward Pines to watch. Waiting for the next series of: G o T The 100 Vikings Fargo Better call Saul Dark Matter Stranger things The man in the high castle In no particular order of preference.

Began watching ' Luke Cage' on Netflix yesterday and so far I am already liking it quite a lot. Yes it is the typical Marvel concept, but it appears to have been done really well. Certainly worth a watch if you are a Marvel fan like me

I don't think 'The Man With the Flower in His Mouth' has ever been bettered personally.
