Still enjoying "The Silent Sea". It's getting quite eerie in places now, and you can expect the usual jump scares punctuating the tension as much as you like, but you will never predict when they are going to happen.

Last night I watched all three episodes of War Sailor on Netflix. Think it was a film originally.
It tells a story of Norwegian merchant sailors in WW2 and is a superbly crafted drama, with wonderfully rounded characters who bring such depth to their performances. I found it extremely moving and poignant, you really feel for these guys and their families. It is fitting that we learn more about their role in the darkest of times.
I also love the attention to detail in the production design, which is brought to life with some stellar cinematography and highly atmospheric, creative lighting.
Don't miss.

Having finished S2 of Marcella, it has propelled itself into the very top Police dramas, up there with The Fall in my mind. Marcella is a brilliant and deeply troubled individual.
I'm on S3 now, still very much enjoying it.

Anyone else recently and persistently got a very slow to load Amazon Prime on TV app?
It works, but takes ages.
Tried uninstalling, TV off at wall etc. No change.
No other TV apps are a problem - Netflix, BBC Prime etc..

Anyone else recently and persistently got a very slow to load Amazon Prime on TV app? It works, but takes ages. Yes! Exactly the same thing, and because it remains fast on the PC I was fooled into doing the same things: reinstalled the LG TV app, restarted the router and wi-fi mesh, checked other services. Nothing wrong, just very slow. Glad to have it confirmed!

That's ironed itself out, or maybe after I unlinked and re-linked in Sonos. Makes you wonder about server capacity reduction etc.. The Amazon TV slowness persists. Great to have it confirmed also 👍

Great to have it confirmed also 👍 My LG Prime app updated today, but the slowness still persists. They blew their chance to fix it.

Trailer for a new series of True Detective now on YouTube.
True Detective: Night Country
Jody Foster in this one, due later this year, let's hope it's better than the last one, as I thought that was a big let down from the first series.

I've finished "The Silent Sea" and if you're stuck for somethiung a bit different to watch I'd recommend it. It's not going to set the world on fire, but SciFi from South Korea (it's got subtitles lads - although I watched the dubbed version - you could try to pretend it's Scandi-Noir in spacesuits iinstead of big jumpers ) has got to pique your interest.

Episode 1 of For All Mankind: briliant. A super mix of history and fiction with plenty of briliantly utilised stock footage and old newsreels intercut with the fictional content.
Premise
In an alternate timeline in 1969, Soviet cosmonaut Alexei Leonov becomes the first human to land on the Moon. This outcome devastates morale at NASA, but also catalyzes a U.S. effort to catch up. With the Soviet Union emphasizing diversity by including a woman in subsequent landings, the United States is forced to match pace, training women and minorities who were largely excluded from the initial decades of U.S. space exploration. Each subsequent season takes place 10 years later, with season two taking place in the 1980s, season three taking place in the 1990s, (and as revealed in the season-three finale) season four taking place in the 2000s.
Ronald D. Moore, explained how history had been different in the series: "Sergei Korolev was the father of the Soviet space program; in our reality, he died during an operation in Moscow (in 1965) ... And after that point, their Moon program really never pulled together.... Our point of divergence was that Korolev lives, ... and he made their Moon landing happen."
There have been 3 series, and Apple TV+ have renewed it for a fourth. Naren Shankar (The Expanse, various flavours of Star Trek, Grimm, CSI, and more) is an EP and oneof the writers. Ronald D Moore, (the same 3 flavours of Star Trek as Naren Shankar, plus Battlestar Galctica, Outlander, Helix, Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams) is the creator and, from what I can gather, the head writer.

Just finished S1 of One Lane Bridge and found it to be well acted and produced, even if a bit vexing.
The Kiwis have been on a roll lately and this is a great example.
