Sounds like Game of Thrones, then. Unmissable. I'm not going to rush to judgement after just one episode, but it's certainly heading in that direction. There are currently 3 episodes available, with the next 5 dropping weekly, from November 26 th, until December 24 th. I'm guessing the idea is #1 - to get viewers hooked immediately, and #2 - to draw all of the disparate threads together quickly for those of - How shall I put this? - of a " limited" attention span.

Got about 15 minutes in and abandoned It's a massive story, Mike, you need to give it time (no pun intended) and trust me, episode one REALLY heats up towards the end. It took all of my willpower not to go straight in to episode 2. Seein' as it's you squire I'll give it a go Need as much as I can get for the boss

Bordertown is going well. On E4 now.
There's another French series starting on Netflix: La Mante (The Mantis). Looks good.

I see The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, is on BBC iplayer.
Even the intro illustrations are chilling!
The odd thing is the title - The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo!
It's really in Swedish, Män som hatar kvinnor. Translated it's Men who hate women!
Much more powerful and controversial a title
Before it's time 2009 really? Before Me too anyway. Wonder if the Patriarchal English speaking side had anything to do with that?

The original Swedish production was superb. Agreed, much as I like Daniel Craig the original was far superior. I bought the 3-story set on DVD, and, mainly for Jeanette's benefit, we watched it dubbed, rather than subtitled, and even that was very well done, and completely non-intrusive.

Noomi Rapace absolutely nailed Lizbeth Salander. She made Rooney Mara seem ordinary in the remake.
Swedish with subtitles for me, always. The cadence is so different.

Bordertown is a real cracker. Slow burn, with interesting characters and dark stories. Excellent Scandi noir.

S3 of Bordertown packs a really heavy emotional punch. Have been completely gripped by this series and hope it gets another season ...

I'm just on S1 E8 and it remains excellent, in fact it's getting better.
The interplay between Kari and Lena is interesting, as are the lesser characters.

Wheel of Time? Anyone else watching apart from Mike and myself, or are we te only two people with such exceptional taste? This is the bit where Mike tells me he's given up on it again, isn't it?
