Unforgotten, Midsummer Murders, Endeavour, Vera, Appropriate Adult, Grantchester, Grace, American Dad, Arthur & George, Des, Family Guy, Manhunt, plus men's and women's rugby, footy, and cricket, all on ITV, and that's without repeats of classic series like Morse.

I've started re-watching The OA, because Netflix suggested it and I got drawn in again. If you like Brit Marling, you'll know that the combination of her excellent writing combined with her very good acting are quite compelling.
Weird time travel storyline where 'Prairie' wakes up in hospital after apparently attempting to take her life by jumping off a bridge. Fantastic lines like "we all died more times than I can count" and points where you just think "what??" as with The Leftovers. Oh, and a chance to see Sharon van Etten acting and singing. Superb drama.

I do have a soft spot for Midsomer Murders when John Nettles was in it.

Atropa
7 episode SF short on YouTube. It has many SF tropes but is still a good storyline with great effects and a good cast.

I heard from someone who is one-and-a-half episodes into "Foundation," that' it isn't awful. Quote: [but] "they haven't butchered the books toooo much yet. Yes I know the Emperor wasn't a clone, and they seem to have taken stuff from the non trilogy novels but it's still vaguely 'in cannon' so far."
I shall be giving it a try. It's on Apple TV+ apparently.

Foundation is definitely a "Based upon characters created by Isaac Asimov," deal, but enjoyable for all that. Daneel is portrayed as female, and Hari Seldon appears as one of the main protagonists, instead, as in the original trilogy, of pre-recorded messages to reveal a "Seldon Crisis".
For all that thouigh (and more) the story hangs together, and I'm enjoying it. Asimov zealots will probably deem it heresy though, as it's not only plundering all seven of the Asimov books, but appears to be stealing bits from the "Second Foundation Trilogy," written after Asimov's death (Foundation's Fear by Gregory Benford, Foundation and Chaos by Greg Bear, and Foundation's Triumph by David Brin), which are set after Asimov's two prequels.
It should also be remembered that Asimov tied his Empire series, and his Robots series into the Foundation trilogy (septology?) too.

I've only read the first Foundation book, a long time ago.
I'm sure I'll get to see it one day when another service makes it available.

I can't decide whether The OA or The Leftovers is the more gobsmackingly left-field series I've ever seen, but they are a close match for sheer brilliant inventiveness when it comes to weird and surprising vignettes.
I'm still loving the re-watch of The OA. Has anyone else seen it?

I've only read the first Foundation book, a long time ago. I'm sure I'll get to see it one day when another service makes it available. I devoured the original trilogy - actually, when I read it, the two sequels and the two prequels were still to be written - and Asimov was sort of in the same pantheon of Gods as Hendrix as far as I was concerned. I even read the books he aimed at "younger" readers, not to mention his straight science fact books, two volumes of which started at zero and ended up with E=mc 2 via Lorentz and all sorts of other interesting and semi-incomprehensible stuff. They were (still are I hope) full of complex and interesting stuff, but written for " normal" people. Found them. Mine are both a lot more battered than those below though.

Crossing Lines, on 5USA, shows some promise (I see it was made in 2013, and ran for 3 seasons). Donald Sutherland turns up as Michel Dorn, from the International Criminal Court from Netherlands. I must compliment the casting director on his choices for the female protagonists.

Sutherland in lead or no.2 ? Does he have much time on screen ? Either way the only part I ever like him in was Dirty Dozen
