I've started watching From the Earth to the Moon, the docudrama story of the Apollo space programme. The production is a little schmaltzy and I don't need the opening intro by Tom Hanks, but the level of detail revealed is riveting. E2 is about the Apollo 1 fire and its subsequent investigation. The piece-by-piece dismantling of the wreckage and the testimony given by Frank Borman make for fascinating viewing. Definitely worth watching.

Marie likes Salvation (Netflix). Perfect foil to living through a real live ongoing pandemic, watching an extinction event size asteroid drama! See how the real Americans solve it👍
Why aren't script writers & film makers running the country (US)? Things would be so much better 🙂

If only our politicians had a deus ex machina available to them.
Mind you, they'd only try to monetise it.

For all you Nordic noir fans. Heard an interview on Swedish radio today. A new series about young Wallander is coming on Netflix. I wonder if it will have multi language sound track? The actor is well known, was son in police drama Before we die (innan vi dör). Part of me is interested, part of me says - why do they bother doing these?

Agreed - difficult to get excited about such a prospect.
As much as I loved Wallender, are ideas that thin on the ground now that he needs to be resurrected in some way?

Wallander probably made them lots of money. It's the Hollywood disease.

Stargate was fun. I watched all three variants and then watched them again a few years later when they were repeated. Of course, I'm still in love with Vala Mal Doran (Claudia Black) too, much as I was when she was Aeryn Sun in Farscape.

Must remember Stargate, all 10 series when we are running low on stuff I can bear to watch - and Firefly of course ! Must get the DVD connected

Stargate - the film and all series, was excellent, really good fun as you said.
Jewel Staite in Atlantis for me. She was also in the wonderful Firefly.

It was a tie between Morena Baccarin and Gina Torres, in Firely, for me.

I seem to remember that series two started out taking a tilt at some more "serious" situations, and didn't always hit the right intergalactic windmills. It was a while ago now that I watched it, but I do remember enjoying the series as a whole. I certainly watched to the end. The Orville did get better through S2 and had a couple of great moments in the disco scene and also in the final episode. Didn't Adrianne Palicki look good in 'civvies'? Similar to how Seven looked in Picard.

I started "The Night Manager," tonight, which completely passed me by when it was on TV. It wasn't at all what I was expecting. I think, somewhere at the back of my mind, I'd managed to conflate "The Night Manager" and "The Night Porter," and was expecting more of a period piece. Episode 1 was quite good, in an unexciting sort of way, and I rather hope that the pace picks up a bit as it goes along. Hugh Laurie was suitably obnoxious.

I've started watching Banshee again as all the series are on NowTV.
I can't help it, it's so effin' brilliant that you watch the first one and you're hooked. Again.
