Love to see him do it but smart money has to be on Novak, what he did today was similar to Roger Federer's annihilation of Andy Murray in 2010, i watched that match and i remembered fearing the psychological damage he'd done that day, it was sore to watch but kudos to AM who went on to win 2 majors including the biggie Wimbledon.

The day after losing Roger popped his knee and has had surgery! Not a great week for Roger.
Andy's forth coming time off will be balanced by Roger's injury so he will hold no'2 spot (he cemented by getting further than Roger at the Aus open), for a good while no matter what.
Meanwhile it's back to the ATP / WTA grind. French 250 - Gael Monfils lost today to Roger-Vasselin and another 250 in Sofia where Rosol was doing ok. There's also a clay tourney in South America that I have not checked out yet. Tomic is playing in that.
I've joined a new club down here and am getting used to / enjoying playing on Astroturf!

Temper temper He backed off pretty quickly realising he'd overstepped the mark and it would just be digging a deeper hole to do so.
This was last week. He's playing quite well this week.

Hardly a full McEnroe

Hardly a full McEnroe No indeed, the youth of today eh! It is a much blunter insult though, however brief. Mc takes a bit of time to get fired up in his umpire altercations. Down the pub i would take more provocation before smacking Mc in the mouth. This boy would get it instantly:)
Hawkeye does away with all this fun. But only at ATP 500's and above.

I watched Dominic Theim beat Nadal over 3 sets on clay in Argentina to get to the final. This was a 250 tournament so bottom tier, and was supposed to be a confidence boost after his early exit from the Aus open last month. Proved not to be. I see it as the competition has figured out how to play Nadal and his supremacy has waned. He's not evolved his game. Many blame coach uncle Tony! Always easy to blame the coach. Question is will he get his mojo back. Going to be tough but I'll be watching...
I'm halfway through the final now, Theim vs Almagro.
Almagro has beaten Nadal recently too.

Delpotro is playing in Rio:) He's had 4 surgeries to his left wrist- he's right handed but has double handed backhand! Couldn't get by with single handed slice backhand:) I watched his last return and it was not good. He's a player who can take it to anyone if he can play his game. Hope he's back to stay now. He also had the most manly grunts of any one:) Won his first match.
Nadal won ugly on his first round match.

Nadal is up one set against Almagro. Almagro has beaten Nadal last read but usually Raffa should win. All depends on confidence.

Well Nadal lost in the next round...
Seems the only way from here is down! Sad to say.

Yes. Djok is up, up and away! Kyrgios won his first ATP tournament beating Cilic in the final of a French 250. Quite convincingly. I think Raonic, Kyrgios (if he keeps his head down) and Thiem are the ones to watch when the old guard get pensioned off.

The boy Thiem won his first ATP500 event at the weekend Beat Tomic in a good 3 setter. So he wins some clay court tournaments in Mexico and now a hard court in Brazil. Well done him. Def one to watch.

Indian Wells ATP 1000 this week. Lots a great matches ahead. Del Potro is on the come back trail after over a year and multiple wrist surgery. Heather. Watson win her first round match. She won a lower level tournament (Monterrey) last week.

The Muzziah gets through his first match in straight sets against Granollers. Will need to play much better to overcome the likes of Stanimal and The Djoker. Still a good warm up match under his belt.

Djoker played a poor opening set against Fratangelo. Fratangelo, an American named Björn by his tennis nut dad played well. It looked like an upset was on the cards, but Djok did just enough to claw a win.
Muzza is a set down to Delonis as I watch...

Yes. Just couldn't raise his game. Nice set players for the matches in the quarter finals. Got my pick of them today / tomorrow.
