I will try to make it along. The last one I went to was some years ago when Yello's Toy album was de rigeur (I see it was released in 2016). John was having trouble setting his kit up in the other room.....oh yea and I met other forum members too  |

John was having trouble setting his kit up in the other room.....oh yea and I met other forum members too Bugger! I have had L Knee problems for years and have never been able to get it taken seriously. Have had X-Rays and told it is just general wear and tear. Got to the point a few months ago where I could not walk more than a 1/4 mile without dreadful pain and knee locking up. Was told I would be referred to a specialist. In March I got an apptmnt for Sept. Then heard that a friend of my wife's who only got knee probs recently had been given a private consultation at a local private hosp on the NHS. So I contacted my GP practice and very nicely shook them warmly by the throat and set out my position. Was told that I would not now be seen on NHS until December at the earliest .....BUT I was being referred privately. I saw the specialist last Thurs and I am having a new knee on the 13th August! BUT I may not be able to drive to the ASBO. .....Ah well.....you never know. |

ATTENDANCE AND EQUIPMENT
As we approach The ASBO 2024, it would be helpful (but not mandatory) if those who intend coming please let us know, and whether they will be bringing any equipment with them.
This is so that we can judge numbers and ensure a fair listen to equipment turning up. There will be two rooms for large and small system setups.
Light refreshments and snacks will be provided.

I’m fully intending to be there, I’ve booked somewhere to stay on the Saturday night as I live 170 miles away.
As for kit, I don’t have much that is easy to transport and that I’m happy to leave in my car overnight. I could bring a Colin Wonfor amp which was developed to be a good value small kit 30W A/B power amp. It’s not quite the latest version and has a bit of excess ripple, which is now gone from the final version. I’ll ask Colin if he has a different amp for me to bring.

I plan on bringing...
LARGE ROOM
PS Audio P3 regenerator
TP-Link 4G router, 2 x SIMs
EtherREGEN switch + Uptone JS-2 + AfterDark clock
This will allow others to bring along streamers and DACs galore.
SMALL ROOM
Fostex based single driver speakers + stands
SMSL Q5 DAC/Amp
USB CD drive
This is a basic setup to which much more can be added.

Depending on what people bring I might bring the Evo A3 speakers. I would not be able to provide speaker cables or stands. I see what people are bringing before deciding.
I will also be getting rid of a lot of CDs 50p each, with proceeds going to Dementia UK.
