Been thinking on this for a while
The TAD E1s have a curved top so not much I can do
Except, today I thought about the wrist/ankle weights I started the experiment on the D-1000 with Cloth covered, 1 kilo
Put them on this morning first thing. Thought the sound improved
Tested just now on favourite test track from L'Arpeggiatta
Ooh
There does seem to be a step up More space, more echo from the room, clarity, 'louder'
Whatever next ?

Umm, I don't think I'll be doing this to mine, Mike.
Don't you think 160kg each is quite enough? The Podiums would simply ground and lose effectiveness!

No grounding, just checked. May need to adjust slightly just in case Found two more cloth covered weights and will play with them later Total weight on top only around 2 kilos per speaker. The E1s weigh around 75 kilos from memory Trying a 'what if', applying the same principle of granite placemats on the D-1000 and M2500 and that works very well Work in progress. Posted for others to try especially as essentially FREE ! The E1s stand on Black Ravioli on the Townsend stands Must compare with the BRs in then out

Just put two heavy granite place mats on top of my speakers. I think you may have something with this Mike

I had two marble slabs made for my old JBL L-100T speakers going back to the mid-1980s, so it's not a new idea.

Look out for introducing friction or stickiness so they don't jump off I can only put floppy stuff on top of the E1s with the curved tops so as not to damage the speakers, small dogs, kit and me Longer term, if this works out, I'll try black bags with sand, gravel or something else as currently looks a bit odd ! Could never have done it on Isobariks with the upward pointing drivers

I will leave them on the speakers for a week or two then remove them and have another listen

Not sure if it's the actual weight on the speaker, or what's underneath the place mat. Doesn't matter really as long as it works

You could try fabric/leather door stops. These can be bought in all sorts of forms like animals and are quite heavy.

Weights off the E1s
Play track. Thin sounding ?
Weights back on, two on each speaker now More detail, leading and trailing edge, rounder, smoother, richer, nicer Noticeable step up. More than subtle
