Keep on pushing, Damien. Remember to enjoy the music in between, though

🤣 Thankfully that's exactly what l'm doing Martin. A bit of Jeff Berlin... The album called "The players"
Give the Throttle a try Martin, you got nothing to lose, but what l can say, it cleans so well, that even LAN cabled father down your line are open to improvement.

It is indeed John... Crazy story, my Guitarist and Mate Rob would always lament about seeing Jeff Berlin back in his days of playing in L.A. Anyway had major issues trying to get a copy of this album, the issue being it title, "The Players" so it took months to arrive on Vinyl, l had to laugh, as Robs jaw hit the ground upon looking at the notes on the sleeve... It was only the night he went to watch them in L.A.,and he was totally unaware of its release. Sometimes you can't make things up.. And slight mild claim to fame, l distributed Jeff Berlin CDs for a few years in the UK via mail order, online and ebay. My secret weapon... Get Jeff to sign every copy! This was during the Lumpy Jazz period. These days Jeff is flat out on FB exposing music teachers approach to learning... and that's another complex subject in itself.
Thanks John for unlocking that nonsense, and of course yourself and Vic and your input on the Throttle Cable.

Great progress Damien. I’m really looking forward to your views on the N18Pro. Hard to find much useful info online.

I remember chasing the album down back in the 80s, it was obscure at the the time. I saw Jeff play once I do not remember who he was playing with. I also had Champion on vinyl

John we must have have had a thing for Jeff back in the day. l tried to locate a copy of "Pump it" on CD,and after no luck, l actually placed in Record Collector Magazine. This was in the early 90s, Anyway I finally got a letter from Chap in Holland, he wanted to sell me his copy... Great.. However he was moving to Australia, so had to wait a month or so.
I finally got the CD, and l couldn't actually believe where it was pressed, six miles up the road by Nimbus Records in Cwmbran, the,CD had literally travelled the world and back.
We take so much for granted these days, you would have to wait weeks for JPN or US imports, those days are gone now, and we all take overseas ordering for granted these days

I'll be interested to hear what you think of the N18 Pro, Damien - is it landing this week?

I'll be interested to hear what you think of the N18 Pro, Damien - is it landing this week? Tomorrow Jules, so will be on the weekend, l'll probably do a small review on TAS, it's exciting, as it offers a few connection options, and a 10mhz clock input, so l can also use with LB,clock.

Well... How's everyone doing? Good l hope, just, thought l'd drop a line this beautiful summer afternoon.
I'm just about to start the BBQ up, and today is good day.
l just had Stella couple hours, with the latest Toy, my network switch, Gustard N18Pro, the introduction of the Leo Bodnar Clock really brings things to incredible level.
As must as l love the Cisco 2960 combo, after a number of hours listening, there's no comparison.
Right... back to the BBQ

It's a gorgeous evening, Damien, and Ruth has gone off to her mother's for another week (of hell).
I have been enjoying my system since a bit of contact cleaning. Everything sounds good, no complaints. I tried a spell without the Mini-circuits BLP clock filters in place, decided I couldn't really detect much difference without them. Put them back in and I could then hear the cleaner, smoother and less harsh presentation! Leaving them in place. It's nice sometimes to re-validate what I've done previously.

I have the same if I go 'backwards'
Sounds much the same until you put the new bit in and all is revealed
Very difficult to work out what's missing. So much easier to see what has been added

Interesting, not even sure if l could even use a BLP filter with my setup, still l'm guessing it filters out some of the higher frequencies, and can be system or clock dependent on design. Have given the Throttle Cable a try yet?

Have given the Throttle Cable a try yet? I don't think you can, Damien, since your clock is squarewave? Not tried the throttle cable yet as I'm awaiting the arrival of the ferrite ring.

The Mini-circuits filters are only for sinewave clocks, to bandwidth limit their output and further reduce noise above around 14MHz upwards.

A minor mid summer update. I mentioned a few weeks back that l had purchased another Farad Super3 psu. l seem to be having a bit of a love affair with the Farad, to the point that my TAS audio pals Matt & Atoz have renamed me "Al Farad" 🤣
l tested my 5 volt unit in both my Server SSD drive and one of my FMC units, both gave nice improvements, bringing similar improvements that l gained on my other Farads om my NUC and LB clock.
ln the end, l've decided to keep it supplying my SSD drive. This seemed to slightly lower the noise floor, and increase the prat in the lower frequencies, with less digital edge, more polished. The Farad have replaced a ifi Elite, which is no slouch in itself. What keeps me purchasing them, well there is definite sound improvements, no thoughts of... lt's a bit better, which l often found comparing a Zero Zone Supercap to ifi Elite. So until the next up date, have a great evening Damien

l seem to be having a bit of a love affair with the Farad Rather like my love of the Uptone JS-2, of which I have two. Again, the sound quality uplift is very easy to hear.
