They're on Townshend Podiums and it's all I can do to leverage them onto the Podiums from lying down on my own.

Well... had a big break though sound wise, putting a,concrete slab with silicone at the bottom has done two things, firstly it's killed last bit of bass resonance, and also raised the MA Studios tweeters to the perfect height for my sitting position, they look high.. but offer even better soundstage. My final party trick was to add a -2db low shelf filter @ 80hz, my subs are way more sensitive than my MA Studios, this has brought a lovely balance, and as it stands .. l don't think I've heard my set up sound so good. Excuse the dodgy speaker placement on the photo, it's just as an example. Final speaker support by Damien Read, on Flickr

Happy days Damien. Don't think it would get a pass by my wife on looks but Iam sure you could incase those bits ... though to be honest the look wouldn't worry me if they sound great.

TBH l'm not to worried ref looks... As l'm always moving things around. The biggest surprise was the MA Studio height, l was worried they would be to high, and actually l must have been using them in a incorrect position for a while, they sound even better than ever.

Swap out those switched sockets for unswitched Damien You will be glad you did Yes Mike, lt's a worthwhile upgrade, and l done it in the past. However it would mean leaving everything on unattended, and l only listen on Sundays and Mondays so it's not economical to leave it on. On the up side, every socket has had Graphene and Rochelle Salt added. l have considered adding a non switched socket, but switching it off at the trip switches.

Easy enough to turn everything on and off in a predetermined sequence with regenerators

Good to hear you’ve made more progress with the speaker isolation Damien.
Did the first reflection point foam make much difference in your room?

Well what a progressive two weeks it been, and just like Buses 🚌 two arrive at the same time.
Last time, l blogged, l was trying to improve my Sub isolation, thankfully that's now sorted, finally with a concrete slab, and silicone feet ar the bottom.
Due to juggling circumstances, today l finally managed my Monitor Audio Studio crossover upgrade. Out came the board, then came the challenge of soldering, and fitting and squeezing it all in the box. On top of that, l also treated the internal enclosure to some Dodomat, as the MA only has foam inside, no additional damping apart from the enclosure, being that's it's a ported design, it gets away with it. So l replaced the stock Caps with Clarity CSA Caps and being that l couldn't purchase Mills Resistors at certain values, Hifi Collective suggested Jantzen Superes Resistors. Apart from taking a bit of time,l added some of my DIY Graphene mix over the solder points.
I am happy to report this a major upgrade, a WFT moment, on every aspect. It's like the old XO was just hinting at what was available, the additional clarity and insight is superb, l could go on about soundstage etc... But to say l'm happy is a understatement.
And what arrives... the next Bus for the Ladies Man The Cisco Kid.
So while we all been getting excited about DAC cables for our devices, for myself FMC Units,l managed to bagged two used Cisco DAC cables from ebay model
Cisco Twinax SFP-H10GB-CU3M 37-0961-03 SFP+ 3M DAC Networking Cable Switch 10GB
l have to admit l was skeptical, as my Cisco Fibre was doing a good job. lmagine my surprise when swap them over, and can instantly hear a difference, l had been playing Celine Dion Have You Ever Been In Love, with the new XO l was enjoying all that additional presence of her voice.
Amazingly... with the DAC cable, lt was greater with instruments sounding more palatable, natural, l hadn't noticed, the space around everything sounded bigger, and indeed as MartinT reported reverbs seem to last longer, but it gets better, the whole delivery transients sounded better, delivery sounds faster, the lower frequencies are crazy, nice and deep, and less overhang, taunt result in a faster Bass. As l finished this blog, l been listening to Anita Baker album Rapture in 24/192 l've never experienced it soundeding so good.

Great to hear this all worked out Damien. I think you’ll be in for further treats as the crossover components get some hours on them.

Happy to report that everything sounding great with the set up. I was sent a LAN lead via my pal Vic,which we kindly made up for myself. l had actually forgot that Tobias had mentioned and recommended this very DIY solution a month or so back. The cable is called a Throttle Cable... If your interested in reading the article follow this link, you will have to translate from German to English. ethernet-sound.com/das-drosselkabel-minimierung-der-gleichtaktstoerungen-auf-dem-letzten-meter/l am happy to report this really is OMG, better focus ,clarity, reduced harshness... amazing.. Vic supplied his cable with Rhino extention CAT6 cable, l simply added my Ugreen CAT 8 before the Throttle Cable, then into my Gustard R26. As you can imagine, l instantly had a what if moment... I then disassembled Vic's lead, and put the same combination on my Ugreen CAT 8 cable. Now we gave a really nice lift, the trates of the Rino cable had now be replaced by the superb quality of the Ugreen. Don't get me wrong,l'd describe this as a slightly vailed with Rhino, but once the Rhino is removed,it just that the Ugreen seems to offer more insight. Now before you scoff, this cable reminds me of a clock upgrade, and it will be no surprise, that's one of the claim measurements of the article,is improved Jitter Reduction. l can highly recommend this, its a cheap mod, and one where you can add to your favourite choice of LAN Cable. In the background lm starting to plan to mod some Cisco 2960 switches, something my modding buddies Matt and atoz are way ahead of me on these,so you can expect a report from the lads before myself. Okay off to watch England in the Euros

Once I get my system properly setup I will have to try with the Ugreen

Once I get my system properly setup I will have to try with the Ugreen Have to admit John, l was skeptical.. but it works. BTW you will need realistically at least a 1 metre cable, as you will struggle to get turns around the large ferrite ring.
