Bad luck, Damien. That's always the danger of fiddling inside.

Do you know that it's the transformer that's fried? Primary or secondary (I presume the latter)? Open or short circuit? Has it taken out any of the regulators?

lt's definitely a melted transformer, the one that supplies the audio side. And not the Network or clock board,as they power up,including display.
Taking a quick look all boards look fine, but won't 100% know until l replace the transformer. l'll just have to be wait for an replacement.

Hopefuly you get a transformer soon and then have the DAC running up in no time. At least you have a plan for further development.

Well been keeping myself busy, whilst l wait for my R26 transformers to arrive. Also picked up these speakers, which seem to have very little information about them, apart from one review.Company is Indigo model is called Level One. Indigo Level One Speakers by Damien Read, on Flickr I've only had 15 minutes with them, and they certainly need moving closer to the back wall. On first listen, this seem very fast, with a clean mid range, and an incredible soundstage, that l've never experienced... However, for all the positives they sound bass light, but I really need to move them near some boundaries. I also swapped the top speakers out for my MA Studios, which seemed to improve the mid bass. Here's the only review l can find. hometheaterreview.com/indigo-stage-one-bookshelf-speaker-reviewed/ Has anyone else heard of this British Company? Anyway, a interesting speakers, that l will report back on,once repositioned.

They are really interesting looking speakers Damien. Once you get the R26 back up and running, you’ll be able to test them properly.

Thanks Chaps, more of an experiment,my end due to how cheap l purchased them for, they certainly have some positive attributes. They sold for £1000 back in the day,l have another busy week and weekend coming up,so not getting as much time as l'd like at the moment, frustrating as it seems l have, these jobs building up.
Will look forward to giving you some positive news... soon.

So managed to do a ridiculous test, so l could make sure the lndigo Level One Woofers did output enough bass. And in short, this very crude test worked. l don't know to much about XO,but l'd say the caps would benefit from a replacement or upgrade. I think this will be a good place to start with reduction of some many Boxes. Here's a photo for you to look at my crazy and crude test. I know Matt will love it....
