They sound promising, John. When you said "No idea if I need to keep my bass drivers" would you really give up all that work?

I am pragmatic when it comes to audio. they go down to about 30hz as my bass drivers in Isobarek configuration my Neos are the similar in the bottom range. If I sell the Behringer and Neo bass drivers it provides much needed funds for my end game DAC. The Neos have been the longest bit of gear in my system and are ideal for open baffle bass. I do not listen to deep electronic music so 30hz ideal for me I am more into bass timbre and kick drums which is more mid and lower mids and upper bass, so do not have to go Vic route of UM18 thankfully

I put the same amount of work into Turntables and as not using I eventually just moved on.

Tony says they maybe a bit to polite for me, but nice speakers. Time will tell. According to reviews they are good with all styles of music, have plenty of punch and good bass timbre.

Well the Heco are a bit too polite. They are not doing it with rock for me. Just not tight enough for my tastes I will demo some MA silver 100/i heard the 50 7g and quite liked them but the 100 should scale better

John, what about the Elac Debut series? The DB52 or DB62 come to mind (I've heard the smaller ones). They do a lot right.

I am giving the Heco more time a lot of what I am hearing could be driver burn-in Last night I put a lot of tracks that have either strong bass detail or mid punch by the end of the session; I felt that the bass was tightening up but the mids still not where I would like The speakers have a lot of scale go down low and can play loud without sounding fatiguing The Bass needs to tighten, and the mids need to open up more. However, it's at least travelling in the right direction

The Heco will be going back on Friday I found the bass overtaking the mids which might be room modes. I am used to fast clean tight bass with timbre. It could also be more speaker burn in but I am just not willing to take a chance They very easy to drive and perhaps a lot more to come. But I only have a 14 day period to evaluate and not heard them before so just no way of knowing.

So what next Vic has a pair of Elec Uni-reference ubr62 which he really rates. I am not sure if the temples will drive them to the levels I like but worth a listen

Shame about that John. I hope you find something before too long.
What's your favourite type of bass loading ? Sealed, reflex, OB, IB, aperiodic, other ?

I dislike bloom of any kind in the bass. Fast and clean with timbre is what I enjoy. Vic frameless semi Isobarek U18s is the best bass I heard, but a lot of good bass is not in the real lows, for me it is more in the upper bass/lower mids where the magic starts to happen. I think the biggest issue is how bass interact in the room is the biggest issue. So room treatment or DSP might work through these issues?. So for me bass and the room play a role Sorry I not really answered the question

Vibration is the enemy of music and good bass Yes I have discovered since isolating my speakers that vibrating floors do no good at all. Hence my keaness to isolate my mid bass from the enclosure.

I had a good visit to Vic today and heard the Elec Uni reference UB62 It gives a good sense of layering and dose everything well, including not so bad bass. The reviews criticise its bass but for me it is fast and has timbre. I also heard the Monitor Audio Silver 50 It not quite as good in the bass department although it is fast and clean. Its more like live music in that it not as layered or 3 dimensional. Where it excels is the mids what it does to Guthrie guitar sound is simply wonderful.
So what next to try
I am going to try the monitor audio silver 100. Hopefuly extend a bit lower and have the same liquid mids as the 50
