Been a bit busy the last two days Mike, so my mind has been elsewhere. Hopefully things will calm down in the next few days. Still juicing every 2nd day with whatever healthy comes to hand

More added to Original Post How is your morning routine going brian2957 , rfan8312 .... Thanks Mike, I left my job of 4 years (CNC machine shop) did a lightning round of calls each day for 3 days and had companies to choose from, landed in a shop near my home that has promised to teach me programming for CNC using MasterCam. I get home at 330pm now and work out. Cheatability (sp?) Sit ups - my feet tucked under the bedroom dresser. No longer counting reps just setting a timer for 3 minutes and even that is quite taxing for me. Pushups - Usually 100 over the course of the day. Which is a drop from 160. I notice if I take a week off my pushups are cut down nearly in half. Hoping to weasel my way into 200 per day somehow. Jogging - Jogs have auffered from bitter cold but thermal suit arrived last week. I've tested it out it really keeps you warm under normal layers. No matter the outside temperature. Bought thermal hat and gloves and will attempt night time runs at 7pm each night. Juicing - Have eliminated all but carrots and celery. Not exactly tasty, but not terrible. Will add chia seeds and broccoli this weekend. Juicing about 3 times per week. Drinking lemon water with cucumber 3 times per week. Cheating is fine Remember to stretch too !

You know Mike I've never stretched before this last month. Probably not smart.
Lately before pushups I just do these arm motions.
So I've been stretching a bit. How much stretching would you say is required?

How much stretching would you say is required? Stretching is vital, especially as we get older. Push ups are some way down the Important list from stretching Start off lying down and be gentle with yourself. How much stretching ? - as much as you need on the bits that you need I need neck, both arms, especially upper right, shoulders especially right, lower back, both knees especially left Doing identical exercises every day points out which bits are good and bad

Thinking how to describe what I'm doing took me to trying other moves and changes, subtle and not so subtle to the morning routine. An obvious one was borrowed from speedysteve YT clip where they show hands clasped, held forwards. Seems I found the one last exercise to help my dodgy upper right arm and shoulder. "Physician heal thyself comes to mind" There are things we can do to fix our broken bits. More new words above Who's still with me ?

I'm with you man. I need to take a fat gander at this entire thread.
I was walking Wednesday night and slipped on some ice on a decline. I went straight up horizontal in there amd landed with a thud flat on my back. Maybe that was the best way to land? But I've been hobbling around a bit ever since.

Interesting thread.
I'm a bit old (66 last week) but not yet bent or broken.
If it's not raining I do a 2 hour fairly strenuous walk every day. Maybe I'll take a look at some of these exercises as well.

Doesn't sound like the best landing Anti inflammatories should help Careful when moving. Do gentle stretching and stop right away if painful

Maybe I'll take a look at some of these exercises as well. Had to have a head start on you Jerry and older than you too and more worn Left knee went first in my late 20s, then my lower back. Due to the pain I started Yoga in my 30s and then it became part of my routine The exercises keep me supple, mobile and pain free and point out when something is not right

For a few reasons, my weight has gone up from 100kg to 113kg.
First thing is I have 6 weeks to lower it. Will continue after, but event in 6 weeks that is very important.
I'll be 60 at the end of the year, so nothing extreme.
Daily walks. Starting at 5km. Increase by 1km per week. Have an exercycle from my daughter. Have started with 5 mins. Increase by 5 mins per week. Will swim/aquajog 1-2 times a week.
Thought of Pilates 20mins per day. And free weights 3 times per week.
Hopefully doesn't kill me.

I wish you the best of luck with it Brett.
Very important to do ‘brisk’ walking if you want to get the most benefit from it.
Those will all help with general well-being and fitness, but if you want to lose significant weight in six weeks it has to be done with modifying diet - some form of intermittent fasting is the way to go, that’s how I did it. Best check with your doc before starting such a programme to check it’s suitable for you.

Having more old injuries and for longer than most I have adopted various workarounds as I'm allergic to pain
Recently my left glute started giving me pain - again. The problem is actually in my lower back, synovial cyst, so I started working on that in the hope of improving as I did when it was first diagnosed. Took a number of weeks but I am pain free.
You can fix your own problems often

There's so much info online you can certainly have a go at it.
Changing physio has been key to me finally getting some relief from symptoms associated with my herniated disc. The new exercises I have been given are so much more tailored to my condition and improving core strength. I've also learnt how important it is to perform the exercises carefully and correctly - the instructions I was given are more precise and detailed compared to before. For me to have some pain free days is a major improvement. Just need to work out what causes the seemingly random relapses now.

I'd started walking, and then got an elbow infection that had had my right arm twice its normal size. Antibiotics have returned it to normal.
Daily walks, starting at 5km. Will start weights three times a week. Nothing too heavy. And Pilates on the off days.
What I eat? Intermittent fasting. With a reasonable amount.
Today started a trial of breakfast around midday of bacon, sausages and eggs. A fruit smoothie around 3pm. And dinner around 6pm.
See how that goes for a couple of weeks.
