I could bear it, not bad even, but that is taken against all the stuff I watch on the boss's conveyer belt

Glass Onion.
Massively hyped and hugely underwhelming.
All the charm, intricacies and subtleties have been removed to produce this facile piece of schlock. The characters are reduced to 2-d caricatures and much of the acting is desperately overplayed, including Craig at times. The only actor who comes out of this with any credit is Janelle Monáe. The plot is just crudely reworked Agatha Christie but without a clue of what makes makes that really tick.

Ouch. I really hoped this one would be good. I liked Knives Out and it was clever at times and certainly had its charm.

Edward Norton is just embarrassing in this film. Reminded me of Jonathan Pryce in Tomorrow Never Dies ... Pure ham.

Knives out was so good even the boss gave up with it Glass Onion doesn't stand a chance

Wow it's the same director too. And I've always liked Edward Norton (his role in the dirty cop film Pride & Glory was excellent).
It's free on Netflix so I'll watch Glass Onion but will keep it on a short leash.

Somehow it was popular with a number of critics, will be interested to hear your thoughts!

.... And I've always liked Edward Norton... Did you see him in "American History X" - an absolutely brilliant movie?

History X - amazing film and performance by Norton, unlike his Glass Bunion schlock...

.... And I've always liked Edward Norton... Did you see him in "American History X" - an absolutely brilliant movie? Hmmm. Saw it with some friends drunk when we were a lot younger. I barely remember it. I'm surprised I haven't tried again Edward Norton is really up there for me as an actor. I will watch it again. Tbh, I think his film 'Pride & Glory' about a bunch of crooked cops is criminally underrated.

Portal
Off the scale weird SF, I thought it started off well and was going to draw me in. I ended up being distantly fascinated but ultimately disappointed. It ended up being less than the sum of its parts.

Knives out was so good even the boss gave up with it Glass Onion doesn't stand a chance I think I lasted about 30 minutes with Glass Onion Mike and I really, really tried. But as an Agatha Christie fan I thought it was utter shite, they couldn't even plagiarise any of her 60+ crime novels successfully!

Went to the theatre to see John Wick 4. Don't often go, so was a treat.
Revenge movies are one of my favourites at present.
A bit like the last three, but if nothing it is entertaining. Enough scope for a 5th?

I sat through the whole turgid mess, marvelling at Edward Norton's hamtastic performance and struggling to comprehend their sheer nerve for making this thoughtless and offensively dumb ca$h in after what I thought was a really decent first film with many qualities that were swiftly consigned to history.

Lou - Netflix Unremarkable but perfectly serviceable and entertaining kidnap thriller, what's more important is the progress this film represents. Starring the excellent Alison Janney, it's great to see lead roles can exist when you get past a certain age and hopefully things are changing in this regard. The film is directed by a woman and co-written by a woman. Not long ago this would have been unthinkable ... www.netflix.com/gb/title/81058695?s=a&trkid=13747225&t=cp&vlang=en&clip=81639158

David Fincher's new film The Killer is utterly unremarkable, facile, and a complete waste of time. Remarkable in that he couldn't find anything more interesting than this to make.
10 minutes or so of Tilda Swinton is the only worthwhile thing in the entire film.
