That's actually watchable in a car crash kind of way. Some of that score was written by Sturgill Simpson (big fan here) who's in the movie briefly and there's a scene where a girl buys his CD. If you go in not expecting a horror, but a tongue in cheek romp, I think it's reasonably entertaining. Great score as you say, but that's my kind of music, so others might not be so enthralled. I'd give it 6.5 or 7 out of 10 You definitely shouldn't treat it at all seriously, which accounts IMO for it's poor reviews. It's a black comedy rather than a zombie film, I think a lot missed that fact. Dang it. Maybe you're right. With this one it seems to depend on which side of the bed I woke up on regarding wether I'll call it junk or some kind of odd treat. I actually play it semi often as comfort food in a way. Sturgill Simpson indeed.

Jim Jarmusch films are certainly an acquired taste.
I read a review of that film in The New Yorker that calls it a "political horror comedy" - they were gushingly enthusiastic about it but can't say I'm tempted!

Its pretty bad...but in a good way. Its like if you got one of the best bands in the world together to play "The Happy Birthday Song".

Now that's a description I really like "Some kind of odd treat" I'm going to go with that, fits it perfectly

I will be watching far less when the boss is able to visit the grand daughters and, surprise, listening to musicBest choice Mike When I had Prime I found the 'free' films to be the poorest selection of all the streaming services. I rarely found anything I liked, but when I did it was always a rental. As I don't do drama series, I didn't' have Prime long. I've binned Netflix now too, only have BFI and MUBI - very happy with those, manage a great film every night, sometimes two - but I reckon they would mostly have you guys cowering in the corner with fright thinking WTF is this nonsense! Neither of them show many mainstream films and no drama series, just films. The classic "100 channels and nothing to watch" There are good things on Prime hidden amongst the dross. Takes time to find and I often lose the will Not paying for Prime items. Certain films and series were free and are now wanting dough. Neither of us want to watch horror or anything approaching it, especially last thing

Add all zombie type films and series to Orrible as opposed to unremarkable
Experiment today to cut down on TV Tivo turned off so I don't regularly update on (same old) news on Aljazeera through the day

Add all zombie type films and series to Orrible as opposed to unremarkable I completely agree, Mike. I love good, and sometimes extremely bad, "horror" movies but Zombies have just about been done to death, no pun intended. People are still managing to come up with inventive takes on Vampires (I do not include the Twilight series, and it doesn't count for Werewolves either) and other monsters in general, even Mummies (Bubba Ho Tep is a CLASSIC!!!!). The TV series' about Zombie apocalypses, though, just about finished that genre off. I do not anticipate it rising from the grave. Now, hopefully, somebody will prove me completely wrong.

I find filums that sound like they will be good and aren't. Way too many of them
Much rarer are films that don't do a lot but captivate and are really worth the watch
Standards get a kick up every now and again. Easy ones that come to mind Back to the Future Terminator Band of brothers (yes TV series I know)
and what used to be good just doesn't cut mustard anymore.
Another item is where the plot in less good films copies from films from before. Thus cliches roll in

Oh wow i forgot about this one ^^^^ and should check it.
Theres another gem, out of Norway called Dead Snow. Lol Nazi zombies but it's hilarious but also gruesome. Beautiful performance from the stranger Bjorn Sundquist.
The sequel Red Vs. Dead is amazing!

Don't be fooled by this one. It's far too short and it hasn't even got Barbara Windsor in it.

I watched The Accountant with Ben Affleck.
Completely unremarkable but rather entertaining. It's about an autistic child who is taught the art of warfare by his soldier dad so people don't take advantage of him. When he grows up he launders money for bad guys and does a spot of killing when required. The plot has more twists and turns than a bowl of spaghetti and managed to keep me watching to the end.

Seems Remarkable to one is Unremarkable to another
I really looked forward to Parasite a family of scammers, set in Korea. Underwhelmed. Couldn't see anything to rave about
Blade Runner 2049 I was *really* looking forward to Really disappointed. The original is far superior IMO.

Loved Parasite but very underwhelmed by what I have seen of new Blade Runner, especially the look they've given it. Looks like it was shot on domestic video. Can't compare to the inspired visuals of the original.

The "new" Blade Runner is nowhere near as good as the "old" Blade Runner because... #1 - We're not having the "seeing that world for the first time" experience with BR2049. #2 - The expectation bias is high, until reality settles in. Neither of those things makes BR2049 a bad film, it can just never be as good as we think it should be, especially measured up against Ridley Scott's definitive Director's Cut of the original. It is, however, one of those this-was-made-for-3D films, and 3D captures the atmosphere(s) far better than 2D.
