Yet another boring race with no overtaking of note. Decided yet again by tyres, penalties, happenstance and pit stop strategy I've kind of lost interest in this years championship, im not really bothered who wins the championship this year, max and lewis are both in a different class, 40 seconds up the road from everyone else. Whichever one of them wins it fully deserves it The good races have been the weather affected races, or ones where someone has made a cock up. There has been very little in the way of actual racing, a rediculous amount of bullshit between rb and mercedes which has left a sour taste, and a frankly disgusting amount of awful comments all over social media platforms from 'fans'. Imo, max has got the title in the bag now barring dnfs. the merc and rb wont get any faster, id be very surprised if there are any upgrades for anyone on the grid. This season has not been all its been hyped as in the media for me.
22 cant come soon enough

It was a fairly interesting race. I don't think the outcome is foregone just yet, although Verstappen has the advantage.
Mercedes got the strategy wrong again as Hamilton took the vital lead at the start.
The distance to the next driver back shows what a different level the two drivers are on.

It's looking more and more like Verstappen will be world champion after the Mexican race today. Again, I didn't manage to see it but I think the Red Bulls are too fast to catch, albeit Mercedes still qualify well.

Merc' on the other hand, pretty much like the rest of the field/paddock, have their eyes, current spend and resource firmly focused on the 2022 car. As a result RB have a car that is in reality a proper match for what has been the mighty Mercedes Benz of the hybrid era. I think the way RB have done it, in this last of the hybrid era as we've known it season, is the only way really, next years engine, plus upgrades, and Verstappen now has what he has been after. I'm not a fan of either Red Bull or Verstappen but I certainly cant take anything from them - 8 wins Verstappen to Lewis's 5, tells the story so far. Lewis and Mercedes will need a miracle, as I cant see Red Bull dropping or taking their eyes off the ball, at this stage, that said this is F1 and history has shown many times, that anything can happen

My word! Just stumbled upon the comments section on the planet f1 site Good god, i shant be reading that again Didnt catch all the race this time, i got bored after about lap 20 ish i think max was about 9 seconds up the road. That pace from the free practice sessions was being demonstrated Did it get any better?

The PlanetF1 comments section is akin to YouTube comments. Unfiltered and full of low-life nasty comments by people who have appalling bias and obviously no love for the sport itself.
The race didn't get better, the Mercedes cars struggled against the Red Bulls and I think the championship, barring DNFs, is over.

Looked like an absolute vipers nest of bile
I think you are right martin, merc wont win it this year.
Im really hoping that next years cars are what they are advertised to be This years cars are even worse than the year before to try to overtake. How its got to this point i dont know, but the need for a slipstream, drs and a pace advantage of a second plus just to think about an overtake is barmy

Have to agree Martin, shocking and pretty hateful at times - types who give zero credit to LH no matter how he wins or performs in a race. If he won carrying it on his head, they'd say it was because of the high tech in his trainers. It's why I actually dont want RB/MV to win, because of the nasty, hatey, low lifes who will love it to the core, use it to fuel and support their ignorant, nasty negativity and are literally salivating at the prospect of LH not winning the title this year

It's best to ignore them and go back to just watching the sport for the spectacle and the tech.
LH has 7 world championships, he has nothing left to prove. MV is a talented and worthy successor and I have nothing against him. Horner is a bit of a toad and I don't like the way Red Bull treat their drivers. That's life.
It's a full car reset next year so there is plenty to look forward to.

All manner of controversy going on in F1 in Brazil today. Hamilton under investigation for a potentially illegal rear wing & DRS. Verstappen under investigation for apparently touching Hamilton's car in parc ferme. Meanwhile, Hamilton has a 5 place grid drop in the race for a new ICE. And the sprint is still to come with Hamilton on pole.

Well that was a sprint race and a half The other 2 were boring damp squibs, Lewis not having it at all! Only 4 places down on his best case scenario without the penalty

To get to 5th from starting last in the sprint is a reminder never to rule out Hamilton.

What an extraordinary weekend for Mercedes and Hamilton. A total of 25 grid-place penalties and he won the race from 10th, including being driven off the track at one point. Simply magnificent.

IF the FIA are saying you can drive a man off track like that, so much so that you take yourself off as well then words fail me. My other gripe was the Sky guys asking Toto if he was happy that his car was legal etc etc and then asking Horner pretty much the same - out of order. Not a sniff of these types of questions put to to Red Bull in any interview whilst their car has been a rocket from the get go, all season - what is going on?
