Will Aston Martin succeed in it's protest re the 1Ltr fuel sample ?
As I understand things the matter was not about how much fuel was left in the tank, but the fact that they (AM) could not get access to enough for the full 1Ltr, despite being given more time to do so.
I'm not sure if the FIA have impounded the car to prevent any "trickery".

I thought they had sent the car back to wherever the FIA wanted it for further testing? By which time the fuel will have evaporated

From the FIA about Aston Martin's protest at Vettel DQ: As I saw things that outcome was inevitable.
I see that Perez's seat at Red Bull is now in doubt for 2022, so the driver seat situation remains interesting.
Mercedes will announce (supposedly) next years drivers during the summer break, then everything might be a bit clearer with regards to all the other teams.

It goes to show, once again, that Red Bull do not nurture their drivers. They either perform or they're out.
It's one way to run a team.
Predictions: Russell to Mercedes Bottas to Alfa Raikkonen retires Gasly back up to Red Bull?

What a waste of my Now day pass.
It rained relentlessly at Spa. After the 'race' (behind the safety car) was red flagged, there was an interminable wait until another try much later, with the same outcome. Having completed the necessary minimum two laps, the race was abandoned so half points were allocated according to qualifying position.
Great for Russell, tragic for the steadfast fans who went there.

Zandvoort is going to be an interesting race tomorrow. The qualy was very close between Verstappen and Hamilton. Great Q3 by Gasly and look at Giovinazzi!

Well that was a boring race No overtakes of note, worthless strategy calls that made no difference at all, and a procession. Again. The much vaunted zandvoort was as boring as monaco It wasn't even as if Max buggered off into the distance and thrashed everyone. He and Lewis buggered off into the distance as expected. Everyone else squabbled a little bit and practically finished where they started. Russell and Giovanazzi went backwards as expected, Alonso and norris went forward as expected, Perez salvaged some points as expected. Nobody had a sniff of an overtake unless they were a huge amount faster, practically no wheel to wheel racing. Alonso holding up the rest of the field trundling along to keep the tyres in good nick sums up the whole race
I really hope the 2022 cars do as advertised because that was mind numbing

It looked very exciting from the cockpit views, but it was indeed a dull race.
Amazing that even Bottas in similar machinery couldn't keep up with those two. Perez, though!

Yep, poor Gasly still not given a second chance.
Marko seems to want to prove himself right at any cost.

Something went on with gasly while at rb and they now wont touch him with a bargepole. Who knows what, but he appears to have got on the wrong side of the wrong people Shame, but nobody wants that second red bull seat. The alpha tauri car seems to suit him anyway

Well, that was fun, especially the unpredictable end. Lando got it wrong and Hamilton right with tyre choice as the rain came down. Verstappen drove amazingly to come in 2nd. Little was said about Sainz but once again he out-drove his more established team-mate.
It's still neck and neck and the outcome of this year's championship hangs in the balance.

You would have to be new to F1 to bet against Lewis winning in the rain.

I've only watched the highlights so all I can say is that it seemed to be an interesting qualy experience where the rain caught some drivers out.
These are not the grid positions as Hamilton will take a 10-place grid penalty for a new engine and Sainz will go to the back of the grid for a new complete powertrain.

Well, that didn't work for Hamilton who was angry at being called to pit again by Mercedes, although he did gain good places to come 5th, he possibly could have done better with a different strategy. Bottas held the lead and Leclerc did remarkably well. Alonso had a bad day. Verstappen is creeping ever more towards the championship.
