Will Nikita Mazepin be an asset to Haas, and F1 in general in 2021 ?
The more I read about his temperament, and relative lack of success in lesser formulas, the more I wonder.

He's not looking good, is he? Steiner might actually start missing Grosjean. Thanks for starting the thread

Lewis Hamilton in new year honours list.
Arise Sir Lewis Hamilton. Amazing! His journey from a kiddie to what he's achieved is, well amazing. Also, would have been easy to enjoy the money, lifestyle etc and not take the flack and abuse (I've seen lots of it online, some of it shocking) from the numptie haters who 1. would rather slag him off, even if he won the race with the car on his head and 2. Are either so totally ignorant or just choose not to recognise that what he is standing for is justice and equality right across the board, ie: breaking down the barriers that do exist and making a 'real' difference, making it maybe just that little bit easier for others to get through doors that have been historically almost impossible to open for the regular kid with dreams and for me that has to be commended. If this is commendation then I say great.

I was surprised to hear about Abiteboul. I really thought he was going to head up the new Alpine operation.

Will Hamilton re-sign with Mercedes? It seems to be exceptional for a major signing to happen so late after the season end.
Could he be thinking of retiring while he's at the top?

I think he's thinking about the next stage of his life and retiring from racing. He has so many opportunities and I wonder what he will do next. His future with Mercedes as some kind of ambassador is one avenue. Music is another.

I wouldn't mind seeing Russell do some serious racing in a Mercedes.
I also wonder if Hamilton has his eye on Ferrari if Sainz doesn't cut it after a year. Tricky for me as I like both drivers. The rules change Ferrari could be a good one if they get their act together.

Either way I'm buzzin for the season to get underway. Vettel and Aston Martin, Riccie Boy at McLaren, Sainz with Ferrari, Alonso back, Bottas desperate to turn the tide like Rosberg was. Verstappen and now the excellently consistent Perez for Red Bull will definitely be a proper two pronged attack towards Mercedes Benz, much more so than Verstappen-Albon, which was really just Verstappen fighting by himself. Therefore should mean more pressure against Mercedes Benz, most certainly too if they can squeeze a bit more out their car, bringing it nearer / on par with the Merc. And then there's the man himself, LH with that unwavering winning spirit. As always he'll arrive well and truly ready and up for it. It's up to the others to bring the fight, especially as he'll likely be even more motivated than he usually is, in hot pursuit of number eight. Add to that a potentially unprecedented unrelenting 23 race, season and we could have a cracker !

Oh that's not good. Reports of fractured jaw!
Takes us back to Mark Webber's bike accident. He had cryo treatment to recover faster from his broken leg.
