Looks like we're in for a highly competitive season - excellent!

Remember me saying that Honda would come good with their engine?
They aren't the greatest engine manufacturer in the world without good reason. It was only a matter of time. Shame that they pulled out for 2022, they may regret that decision.

Shame that they pulled out for 2022, they may regret that decision. Stonking job with that engine by Honda. We could see by the end of 2020 that RB were getting v close. Bringing the improved 2022 engine is just what RB would undoubtedly say they needed. LH said it, loud and clear after testing that the RB was the faster car, going into this season and he wasn't bluffing as the numpties always seem to spout. He said the same when the Ferrari was on steroids for a period. Thankfully LH is never one to give up and has been there, done that and still won races against the faster opposition. He actually looked quite contented and said that he was happy the gap wasn't bigger and I believe him. We have a saying, 'hotter/harder the battle, the sweeter the victory'

He stands a better chance than ever before. Mercedes are not going to make it easy for Red Bull. Absolutely correct on both counts. He has the car now, it's defo faster, planted and he's as cosy as a baby wrapped in a fresh quilt, so no excuses. MB, being the class act they are, will do everything and more, non stop, unrelenting, to try and close the gap as well as fight them good and proper, all the way, from start to finish. LH has shown too many times that he will pull it out of the bag, even when the odds are stacked. Looking forward to LH hunting MV down, tomorrow, whenever, even more so if MB can find that little bit more pace for LH to get right up MV's rear end and see how he copes with and unrelenting charge The rule change has brought the pack closer and got MB on the back foot, so the fans now have what they've been whining for. Going to be a cracking season, likely one to remember for a long time I reckon.

Is Sebastian Vettel a spent force? I think he is... Too early to say, and he did suffer with the yellow flags, but he's not exactly dominating the team early on.

Might just be talent, not giving up, taking a step up where there isn't a step.
That dropping a place rule has been in MotoGP for a few seasons

That was a great race. great to see some fight from vettel even though he still did 'a seb' and whacked ocon. Daft mistake...
Max looked imperious, bottas looked abit off again, checo was fantastic yet again.
alonso looked like alonso again and it was a shame he had the brake problem that put him out. Hamilton looked like the wily old fox this time, using every trick in the book to pull a win out of the bag when it shouldnt really have been on given how planted that red bull is.
Norris and ricciardo looked very good, although ricciardo looked abit tentative, and leclerc and sainz both looked promising too
Special mention for tsunoda, a very encouraging performance, points on debut is a difficult thing to achieve.
The haas looked crap, the alpine looked very average, cant say i saw the williams. The aston looked very average too.
Despite that win, merc need to put the hours in to calm the w12 down, especially for low downforce circuits, it will be a right handful around places like monza.
Hamilton, verstappen and perez were the standouts, but there were plenty of really good performances throughout the grid

I fear for Seb...
Bottas could well struggle vs HAM who will drive to the level of the other fastest other driver/car combination, ie VER. BOT won’t be able to raise his game to that level, especially if the car is trickier than he’s used to. That’s my prediction....I could be wrong!

I fear for Seb, too. If he can't do better than Stroll, he's toast.
How Hamilton made that Mercedes look (fairly) stable is incredible. In the free practices, it looked horrible.

Agree - Bottas is a good driver as are so many of the F1 drivers, if not all but he is not exceptional. He is already looking broken, as he has many times before. He may well grab a pole here or there and the odd win but is not at the level, gifting of being able to provide and deliver the consistency that is so difficult to keep up and maintain, especially against the likes of LH. MV steals 2nd podium positions from VB all too often..... I remember Lewis's father's comments, when Bottas took the job as Lewis's team mate, in 2017, after the departure of Rosberg - quote "Anybody who goes up against Lewis needs to have planned their career correctly because it could be a career-ending move when you go up against Lewis," Hamilton Snr told Sky Sports News HQ. "I personally think, while he's getting older and more mature, he's still actually heading towards the prime of his career. So Lewis is going to be a force to be reckoned with this year." "Lewis only ever thinks about winning,"

Yep, sadly Seb has been looking 'flacky' for a good while now, it's a shame. When you think it cant get worse, he's at the heart of another odd incident
