Watch out for the sugar content of bananas, pineapple and other tropical fruits. 'Hard' fruits like apples and pears can be a better option. I eat banana in very small amounts, almost like a medicine. Ok if I mix it up in breakfast with 'nice' fruit Pineapple caused the boss to be violently ill so we don't bother with that Ought to add a bit of apple somewhere as well as try pear again, not keen. Fruit sugar doesn't seem to be a problem for me right now

Told by Senior management to eat cake, specially made by Junior Management for her Birthday Nice cake, small/medium size piece. Coffee icing sugar topping. Felt a bit odd, urgent trip to the small room. Stomach feels odd Think the bin is the best place for this, certainly the icing sugar part You'll have to be more careful in future Mike - your body is now so finely tuned you have developed Ultra Cake Intolerance! It's poisonous muck for my lovely pure body I should have known better

I'm delighted to learn that Strawberries, probably my favourite fruit, are "low sugar," surprisingly.. I've just cancelled the cherries on my grocery order and doubled up on Strawberries, and I've swapped bananas for some apples. I'm keeping the watermelon though, and ditched pineapple in favour of raspberries.

I still don't know how badly the body, when a person has diabetes, handles natural sugars.
I know that each type of fruit lands somewhere on the glycemic index.
Strawberries, kiwis and others listed by Mike are good. Bananas, thank SWEET SWEET Jesus are ok too. Wow, watermelon too.

Grapes are considered not good, but I don't know whether that's because of quantity or type of sugar.

Put as much variety in for the biome Cut down, not out on higher calorie items

Grapes are considered not good, but I don't know whether that's because of quantity or type of sugar. Very high sugar content. This will not affect my having a few with some Brie, in a roll, though. The other problem with them, like cherries, is that it's very easy to eat too many without realising it. They're very " moresome," unfortunately.

I love grapes. Cherries are utterly sublime and I have eaten loads when in Turkey as they are sold on every street corner, very fresh and juicy.

The best fruit I have eaten is in Greece - the peaches and nectarines are just beyond sublime.
I love cherries too - shame the quality is so hugely variable in the shops here.

From Diabetes UK Yesterday I read that they were best avoided if one was diabetic. This is going to hapen a lot, isn't it?

It's all over the place. There seems to be opposing views about everything to do with diabetes.

Try the Brexit diet: dried-out, grilled, British pork chop served with a slightly over-boiled King Edward potato and a pile of watery, over-cooked cabbage. No brown sauce though I'm afraid as it has too much sugar in it (and is now made in the Netherlands and so you won't be able to afford it any way!). See, Boris had your health in mind all the time!

Surely you mean Baked Gamonn, and Gammon, served with Creamed Gammon, in a Gammon Jus, followed by Gammon Mousse with Pistachio & Gammon Shortbread, accompanied by Clotted Gammon Ice Cream. Unfortunately, SPAM's OFF.

Doesn't sound too bad, apart from them dodgy-sounding foreign bits! The sort of stuff that made Britain great (and Britons great and red-faced!).

Pick from mine if of help Raspberries Shredded wheat Walnuts Milled flax Blueberries Red grapes Strawberries Banana Soya Milk Tomatoes Courgette Mushroom Red onion Sauerkraut Red pepper Celery Avocado Olive oil Almonds Brazil nuts Sesame seed Sunflower seeds Pumpkin seeds Golden flax seeds Wholemeal toast Natex yeast extract Peanut butter Steamed potato sweet potato Leek Brocolli May have forgotten some BTW, the mention of red grapes and tomatoes here reminds me of the TED talk discussing anto-angiogenic foods. Anyone familiar with this? Foods that inhibit the growth of blood pathways to tumors. Tumors can only become dangerous when they have a lifeline to keep them alive, a blood supply. Will literally be walking around with this list in my hand on payday at grocery store. Carrots too. Current wishlist: Raspberries Shredded wheat Walnuts Red Grapes Bananas Red pepper Celery Avocado

Added to the list not so much because I'm now vegan Tomatoes are a funny one. Much better if cooked due to the something or other. Can be a problem raw, for arthritis and others I think. A few I'm not keen on were added to increase my biome, carrots and bananas come to mind. Started off at homeopathic levels then increased gradually

This Biome seems to be doing me good Have added a few more since last posting
Madam had dates hanging around she wasn't going to eat Been many years since I had dates Tried them rather than bin them Gradually they worked their way into my favour Very nice, much like toffee
Many fruits and veggies have worked their way into my diet due to being left by madam or visitors
Counting up if I made it to 30 different good items a week Surprised to find I eat more than 30 a day
Try it

Honestly, Mike. I think any of us that arent considering this are making a mistake.
I've been shoveling raw celery down my gullet for a month now. I dont enjoy it. But I know that is imperative that I continue. Whether I enjoy it is irrelvant. I dont even throw away the core or hard parts. That is valuable roughage. Real tough fiber to help get the lingering toxic waste out.
Ok I'll try it, Mike.
