Intended for positive pointers and tips so deliberately in open forum !
Some are having a grim tine a time at the moment and my problems hardly merit consideration in comparison. Nevertheless the general situation in the UK, worldwide and associated with Covid seems to have got to even me.
I need to get a (better) grip, so far as I can.
As a licensed old git I have to work hard.
Starting very first thing on waking up it is good to find I'm alive.- Tick ! Beats the alternative in the shortest blues song I didn't wake up this morning.
Waking up is rarely easy so I do 1-4-2 breathing to ease me into the day. That's breathe in for 1, hold for 4 and breathe out for 2. You should ind that easy and you can then work on multiplying it up to the in for 10, hold for 40 and out for 20 I'm on. Wakes me up nice and gently
What other good stuff do we have ?

Deafening silence
Can breathing help your health ? Yup Studies not to hand. My experience says absolutely. A mild asthmatic my breathing can be problematic. Last test I had the nurse said my lungs were like a punter 20 years younger.
Ten reps of 10-40-20 three times a day keeps them that way. Breathing deeply and steadily is a good thing Holding oxygen in the lungs is good Slow relaxed release of breath also good.
Calms and relaxes. Feels better after than before.

I learned early on you need to be at rest for a few minutes before starting so maybe not while painting the fence

For me, it's been a battle recovering my sugar levels since getting COVID. I'm fighting with food and insulin intake and I still haven't got it fully under control. It's as if insulin is having half the effect it used to have. Side effects are tiredness, muscle aching and bad sleep. I'm starting to get the balance right but taking more insulin means I can't control my weight.
It's all horribly interlinked and has served to remind me of what a bitch diabetes really is.
I'll get back to yoga, breathing etc. when I feel better but I'm afraid this has all taken priority.

I have gone back to Intermittent Fastening I want to start losing more weight I gained a few extra pounds but its not been to bad. In the morning I do the Wim Hoff method of breathing including the cold show. I also hold a plank for 20 seconds and I am building up the amount of press ups I do I often do a lot of walking also. At night I just do gentle circular breathing starting in my diaphragm into my chest and then exhale chest diaphragm and repeat.
I have been treating myself in lockdown but now just doing that one day a week

Actually, I'm going back on my day on day off fasting diet in a couple of weeks time. Very annoyed to gain some weight but not surprised.

Worth a visit to to GP ? Took many years to build up all the things I do Wasn't easy, took time to find and work out Great investment making me healthier than I was in my 20s and 30s, probably healthier than my 40s too.

If you already open windows as much as you can you are already here
Ideal time of the year to try the windows and maybe doors open if you don't Window/s open at night essential for me and the boss.
Fresh air will disperse rubbish including Covid Stale air is bad. Amazes me that anyone can keep the windows closed when sleeping especially in summer.
Great discovery for me was, in desperation, opening he velux window in the converted loft. Lots of lovely air and wonderful keeping the temperature down Worth trying the loft door open and if your house cannot lose heat put a velux window or opening panels in the roof

I doubt that I still have COVID but it could have left behind long-lasting effects. We don't know enough about it, really.
Visit my GP? All they're doing are telephone consultations. However, I will talk to him.
Meanwhile, I'm testing, testing, testing. Sound familiar?

We sleep with the windows open.
What amazes me are people who drive their cars with all the vents closed. All mine are open and stay that way.

GP may have some ideas Could say I'm testing at the moment. Listening to album after album and in my element

However, I will talk to him. Meanwhile, I'm testing, testing, testing. Sound familiar? There's been a number of reports of people being left with permanent damage, particularly to the lungs. The last I heard was a taxi driver who had been left with reduced lung capacity. The alveoli sacks that absorb oxygen from the blood, (I can still remember some biology) apparently suffer irreversible damage. Michael Rosen, a poet and presenter on Radio 4, was in an induced coma for 7 weeks. When he woke from it he had hearing and sight impairment to his left side, which looks to be permanent.
