If only Bottas would on occasion, instead of constantly suggesting that had he done xyz he would have beaten Hamilton, just say "I'm not as good as Lewis, he beat me fair and square", I would have a little more respect for him. He's in good company, along with the rest of the world's population. They never do, that's their mentality i guess, they all think and have to think for that matter that given the equipment they could be champions, they can't let themselves think that they can make mistakes otherwise doubt sets in and they loose the edge, they literally have to go around the track believing 100% that they can't crash because they are just that good. On a different note Albon will be gone at the end of the season, i think Red Bull have given him all the chances in the world to prove himself, he just isn't top team material, i wouldn't be surprised to see Hulk or Perez there next year and honestly i think either of them would be a lot closer to Verstappen, Albon unfortunately is struggling even to beat his Alpha Tauri team mates.

Watch Kimi Raikkonen gain an incredible nine places at the race start. This is poetry in motion. He still has the speed! I could do that ! Just need a bit of practice

Was away over the weekend, so caught up this evening. Good job by Lewis. I like the track.
Pumped another record is away from Schumacher and to such a good role model.
Just the big one to go. Who knows!

Nothing special to report about this qualy except that Red Bull's engineers managed to fix a bad spark plug in record time to keep his grid position 3rd in Q3.

Yes, a good race slightly spoiled by Verstappen getting that blow-out. I doubt that Ricciardo minds, though.

Indeed!
MBP's success is well earned but we'd have more of a challenge recently if RB got Perez in that second seat to increase there options each race weekend, with a genuine number two, close to VB.
Secondly Ferrari have gone missing and in a way that is shocking. They are a huge F1 team with untold money too, it's almost inexcusable how bad they've got. Leclerc deserves better and so will Sainz.
Just these few things addressed would give MBP more of a challenge and make the weekends / races likely more interesting and exciting.
Felt for Russell btw.....

Albon's days must be numbered now. Does he even have a place at Alpha-Tauri now, or will they dismiss Kvyat (who overtook Albon and came 4th today)?
Leclerc is driving the nuts off that Ferrari and doing a good job. I hope Sainz will push him next year.
Where will Perez go?

Remarkable pole position by Stroll. Hamilton just needs to beat Bottas for the world championship.

Lewis Hamilton: 7 Times World Champion!
He did it in style on the most treacherous track and conditions I think I've ever seen. Fantastic control by the top drivers who must have been white-knuckled for the entire race. A shout for Vettel who drove very well to make the podium in possibly his last visit with Ferrari.
For Lewis, who has just matched Schumacher's record, his driving speaks for him. A supreme talent, let's revel in it before he retires.
Result 1 Lewis Hamilton Mercedes 2 Sergio Perez Racing Point 31.633s 3 Sebastian Vettel Ferrari 31.960s 4 Charles Leclerc Ferrari 33.858s 5 Carlos Sainz McLaren 34.363s 6 Max Verstappen Red Bull 44.873s 7 Alex Albon Red Bull 46.854s 8 Lando Norris McLaren 62.085s 9 Lance Stroll Racing Point 71.587s 10 Daniel Ricciardo Renault 94.510s 11 Esteban Ocon Renault 1 LAP 12 Daniil Kvyat AlphaTauri 1 LAP 13 Pierre Gasly AlphaTauri 1 LAP 14 Valtteri Bottas Mercedes 1 LAP 15 Kimi Raikkonen Alfa Romeo Racing 1 LAP 16 George Russell Williams 1 LAP 17 Kevin Magnussen Haas 2 LAPS

Spot on Martin !
I'm a massive LH fan as you know but i was actually quite amazed by his result today, under the circumstances, conditions, where he started etc just a fabulous drive and result. We always knew he had the talent from the moment he arrived but worse for his competitors is that over the years he's honed great skills, from experience etc which makes beating him not just hard but very difficult indeed.
We now dont just have the speed, on track race craft and amazing skill in the wet and that never give up attitude, he's developed and added patience, superb tyre management and an increased focus.
It really did dawn on me today that we really are witnessing, as you say a supreme talent and that I should really really revel in witnessing it before he retires.
Can you imagine a film covering his life, from childhood, the karting etc the arrival into F1 in 2007, the highs the lows, the great races etc it will be amazing and he hasn't even finished yet.
To win his 7th the way he did today, to win the race...... just excellent.
Legend without doubt and he isnt even done yet - enjoy while he's still in the sport, when he's gone he'll be missed big time.

Throughout the last few seasons lewis hamilton has reminded me of several drivers. Senna in singapore 2017 i think, that incredible pole lap, schumacher, hockenheim 2018 i think he went 14th to win, hakkinnen through most of 2019, this year, the professor, alain prost. Absolutely metronomic, reminds me of prost in 93. Simply unbeatable. This years merc reminds me of that years williams too. Yesterdays race was a cracker Hes at a point in his career where i think hes about as good as it gets. Hes learned the lessons of previous years and mercedes have built a legendary car. Put the 2 together and you get 10 wins in 14, with 3 still to go. I have to say though, i was willing seb on, i really wanted to see him have a good result, and in those conditions it was a head over heart race. Verstappen spun twice, albon spun, leclerc made his ballsup on the last lap, bottas broke his car, ocon could go nowhere after the first corner, danny ric was squeezed into ocon and couldnt compete after that. Hamilton, perez, saintz and vettel showed how much experience, care, sheer feel and patience matter

Hamilton's 98th pole. I haven't heard what happened to Sainz but it looked like a gearbox/diff failure. It's clear that Lewis isn't going to take it easy now that he has the championship. Interesting to watch the battle for 3rd by the constructors.
