Without that, he would have had very serious head injuries and would have burned to death or inhaled too much smoke before they could have got him out.

I dont think merc wil mug bottas off in the same way racing point have done to perez, i think they will let him know early on that they want russell for 22, and allow him the time to set up another drive. Toto wolff had had bottas on his books since his williams days, hes not going to upset the balance at merc when theres a good chance that next year they will clean up again without all the fuore of reneging on the bottas contract. Merc play the long game, they arent interested in short term gains. They wouldnt gain anything in 21 anyway, wether its bottas or russell in that car. They will probably still win the drivers and constructors anyway. I think they will have a plan set up for 22, and that george russell was always that plan. Sakhir just cemented it

If I were Hammy I'd want Bottas as a team mate. He's 2nd driver material (to anyone good), and not going to challenge for the title. I'd want 8, then retire at the top.
Could be Bottas and Russel then and I predict the latter will be leading that race.
