From what I've read it seems Seb was not even offered a new contract with Ferrari, so he had no negotiations to be involved in.
Will he get a seat in 2021 ?
I'm thinking not.
And I see the Williams team is up for sale.

There's still a question mark over whether Bottas will stay with Mercedes. Vettel could well have a seat yet.
I'm really surprised that Williams have survived this far with two disastrous seasons behind them.

I'd guess that if Vettel were to be offered a seat at Mercedes he would think twice (nay thrice) about playing second fiddle to Hamilton.
I'm not sure if the Mercedes team could cope with the situations that could develop.
If Bottas goes perhaps they would do better with a talented youngster ?

Ocon would have been good but he's gone to Renault!

James Allison answers some excellent technical questions about F1 cars. This is a good watch while we wait for the season to start.

Perhaps not surprisingly, Mercedes are in the top two in both FP1 and FP2. Hamilton pulled clear of Bottas to once more stake his claim at the start of this shortened world championship. Perez has surprised with his pace in the 'Pink Mercedes'. Verstappen has struggled in the Red Bull, not something they want in their home race in Austria.
We need to see whether Ferrari and Red Bull have anything in the bag for qualy tomorrow.

Frustrated at not having seen qualy today, but I'll be buying my day pass for the race tomorrow. Bottas just pipped Hamilton to pole position, but there are the expected Mercedes and Red Bulls at the top of the grid. Norris pulled a superb 4th position in the McLaren and Perez an equally outstanding 6th in the Racing Point. Ferrari only registered a 7th with Leclerc, while Vettel didn't even make Q3.
Tomorrow should be an exciting race with far more contenders than in recent seasons.

Sounds like you missed the £60 for 3 months deal plus £6 for 1024p... :-( I went for it due to the compressed season making it better value.
Isn’t is strange how Ferrari powered cars are slow compared to last year? Seems like they’ve fixed the engine.

Laughable that Ferrari are able to prevent the FIA from releasing details of the private agreement they reached. Scandalous, more like. Whatever happened exactly, 'fixing' whatever it was that they were doing, presumably sailing too close to the wind, has removed their power advantage.

Must have been an oil leak! Shocking secrecy....must have been serious cheating. Something borderline would be treated differently.

F1 showing how to do it.
Organised and conscientious in their following of social distancing, mask wearing etc. Almost perfect, I did see one engineers with mask off nose in the garage - tut, tut.
Nice lap times by Mercedes. Dual axis steering is genius. I can't believe it's not been done before. Chapmanesq even!
I used to set my Caterham up with extra toe out on shorter circuits. Helped get heat in the slick fronts and aid turn in on chicanes and hairpins. On longer tracks you scrub to much speed off / risk overheating the inner edge.
To be able to alter that on the fly - good stuff.

No Bernie Ecclestone to blow political correctness out of the water.
Christian Horner still whinges for England, though.

Well, that was an exciting race. Hamilton attracting some unwanted controversy but, while I agree with the yellow flag penalty, I do not agree with the Albon one. The in-car footage shows that Hamilton simply could not turn further away from him. I think Albon just turned in too soon.
That aside, we had a lot of car failures due to the tough track, car-killer kerbs and lack of shake-down time for the teams. Good win by Bottas and outstanding 3rd place for Norris. Some excellent battles and lots of swapping of places, too. I was pleased to see Sainz just pip Perez to 5th, too.

I wonder how next weekend’s race will work out.

I'll do my best, but at the same time Sky's coverage of F1 is by far the best.

Ferrari 2nd place 😂 lucky, Partisan Austrian Redbollocks stewarding imho.
Why didn't Merc play the switch game and get a 1-2? Too underhand or not fast thinking enough?
