Sort of "Symphonic Metal" but without the metal. Interesting.

They were varied. From the odd jig to Flamenco to Moroccan to dark ambient. Visual and feminine.

Not really my thing. But she comes across as authentic.

Sadly for me the sound quality at the Apollo was the worst I have encountered in all my years of gigs. It might as well have been mixed by a troop of baboons. The kick drum and bass were so heavy it was very difficult to hear guitars and vocals. I took my musician's earplugs out for a few seconds to see if the frequency response was any better but it was only marginal, still atrocious and skull crushingly louder.

Sadly for me the sound quality at the Apollo was the worst I have encountered in all my years of gigs. I have never found the Apollo to be anything other than horrible for sound. Hard to think that it was once a cinema.

Dave was on great form. Standouts for me were I believe in you and midnight in Tokyo. Wish they stop playing the vomit inducing summertime girls, it could have been worse I guess (Lipstick and Leather) hang your head in shame.

Lol - those were my favourite tracks too!
Dave's playing as good as ever - the solo in Dirty Girl outstanding and the band were tighter than a duck's arse.
Can't remember the last time I went to a gig with the main act playing for over 2 hours.
A great night.

I have quite a few gigs coming up Nov Ion Maiden a good tribute act at the Cart and Horses which is good venue. Moving Pictures a excellent Rush tribute act at the Half Moon Putney December Myles Kennedy at the forum Peter Sayce Evergrey I am really looking forward to this one Prog metal with tinges of symphonic and gothic elements Feb Firewind. At the Underworld which for me is like going back to the Marquee in Wardour Street small hot and dingy. Exactly how a good metal venue should be. They were excellent last time I saw them. Have a few Maiden tributes at the Cart and horses and also the real deal later in the new year.

I'm seeing Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring at the Barbican with Jules tomorrow. Looking forward to music well ahead of its time that still sounds provocative today.
