Really good gig perhaps my favourite gig this year Cool! I just discovered them, for real, by having listened many times to their just released album, which is really great! Yesterday I booked tickets for Morgan Wade on a small club in Stockholm, in August. It is mostly my wife who is into country, but I like this style as well.

Hmm, I just realized that I mixed up Mdou Moctar with Altin Gün, which is the band I recently listened to...

Saw Lukas Nelson last week in Wolverhampton . . . what a brilliant night, but it always is with Lukas - his band is incredibly tight and he just gets on and does it. Most of the time he uses a 56 Gibson with a single pickup, very few pedals and doesn't stop to tune after every song - it's a roller-coaster show with Lukas normally. Seen him numerous times now and probably one of my favorite current performing live acts. Some bands can be hit and miss on certain nights, but these guys have never once turned in anything than a superb show
I was due to see Tom Russell next week but he's just cancelled due to poor health, really gutted about that
That's 4 concerts this year that have been either cancelled or rescheduled, so I'm not doing so well in 2023!

71 year old Paul Stanley rides a wire from the O2 stage over the adoring crowds and coolly lands on a podium by the mixing desk, then launches into "Love Gun" - me and everyone else go berserk. The boys play "Deuce" with footage of them from '73 on the huge HD screens doing their choreographed guitar moves, with the live performance perfectly in sync. Gene Simmons spitting blood and growling out "God of Thunder" on a small platform something like 20m in the air ... A 2 hr hard rock masterclass, KISS are the ultimate in rock 'n roll theatre - massive pyro, a zillion lasers, hydraulic drum risers and a monster technicolour lighting rig ... But at the end of the day, it was four great musicians playing their butts off like a bunch of kids back in '73. They came, they played, they conquered, but this was the last ever KISS concert in London, their 20th in 50 years. I last saw them 40 years ago and now I got to see them with my son which is wonderful. I'm sad I'll never see them again but this was the way to go out. Thanks for the memories guys.
