So, "Firewind". A Greek power metal band, and not an Earth Wind And Fire tribute act, as I first suspected.

Good gig. Atmosphere was great and the band was on top form. Funny seeing people mosh to manic.

Yes Gus G is the boy.
Dancing and screaming the words to Maniac was an absolute riot.
Great to see you John, been far too long ...

Wembley Arena tonight for Scorpions + Extreme.
Sound was particularly bad for Extreme and Gary's voice seemed to struggle in the rockier first half of the show. Nuno played two stunning solos, one electric and one acoustic. Not unreasonably he wasn't too impressed with the punters in the front seats who couldn't be bothered to stand or show any interest - "you guys look really fking comfortable there - shall I bring you some canapes?" Priceless!!
Scorpions were great fun with amazing hd graphics. Sound was better than Extreme but bass still way too mushy. Klaus was in fine form vocally, Matthias was on point with his solos and Rudi was Rudi, jumping around like he usually does. Mikkey was an absolute monster on the set, his solo was pretty entertaining. I do hope we see them again, a great live act still.
