Yes indeed, for biasing up the 300b’s. You bitten the bullet yet?

Not yet bitten the bullet. I've made a grave error in that I've de-retired myself having gone back to work. When I retire again I expect to bite that bullet. It might happen fairly soon... I'll have to see how long I can hang in there working.
At least I can study your progress...

I want to know how they're going to work with the Impulses. Can't help thinking it'll be something special.

Still catching up on my 30 odd years of next to no holiday and mostly 6 day weeks. Can you say why you went back ?

There's a whole bunch of reasons why I went back to work, here's a few: - I didn't want to think that having acquired and developed useful abilities that I'd not use these again, I wanted a last shot at improving the way a (suitable) company works - I wanted to prove to myself that I could get a job even in my sixth decade - my wife is only now starting to think about winding down - it helps if we both reach retirement together and can then take holidays out of season or trips mid-week - I can earn pretty good money so even a few months work is quite beneficial - all the more so tax-wise if I only work a partial tax year - the one month last tax year was great, just NI to pay I may stick it for 6 months, a year max I reckon. It's empowering working when it's not totally necessary - I really can say what I think - I'm only one bad day away from retirement! It helps that most of the time I can work from home with a trip to London most weeks, one night away per week isn't too bad when the rest is working from home.

Just got a quote back from Toriody in Poland for the custom mains transformers I need. A reasonable 66 Euros each. Not bad. 18-25 days delivery though..

Did a mod to the crossovers at the weekend as per the Acoustica website which made a real improvement. Sounds great with the Mini Beast, hoping for mucho sublimeness with the Pinnacles. :-)

How's the shipping for the TXs? I hope that doesn't double the price! Poland though is so much more reliable than Russia where you have to pay through the nose and still it gets "lost".

20 Euros for shipping the pair. Ray used them for his current 13E1 OTL build transformers, so I know they are reliable. :-)

A bit more progress. Fitted the HT delay board from K&K Audio- this is not part of the supplied kit, but it will give the 300b's an easier life- eight 300b's are not cheap! Board built up- Installed into chassis- Heater wiring to the front end valves - these will be supplied from a winding on the toroids I'm having made- More progress- Getting there with the front end-
