...for my router and my Gigabit switch. MS-10D Dual output Regulator linear power supply use 30w pure copper transformer. LT1083 linear power supply board.Suitable for all kinds of TV set-top boxes, routers, network hard disk box, (and my favourite ) fever DAC ear the front-end equipment. All for a penny under sixty quid. I should have paid by card though. I didn't realise until it was too late that AliExpress was charging me £2.31 for the pleasure of using PayPal. The important numbers, though, are DC-12V / 4.5A (Max) A lot of the units I found were only rated 12v / 1A which could, theoretically, see the router which is marked at 1500mA, being underpowered. The switch, it seems, would actually be happy with 1A. Both are now overspecced though, which is highly preferable to the alternative. All I have to do now is to sit back and await the arrival of a slow boat aeroplane from China. Delivery time is quoted at 30-40 days, which is on top of 3 days "processing."

It looks quite "chunky" so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. At worst it can't do any harm, plus it will free up one mains socket.

Is it branded Weiliang Audio like mine? The sticker underneath (according to the pic on the website) says "TIANCOOLKEI TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION" and the retailer is "Music KTV Electronic Store." It's this one...

I must admit, the R-Core transformer is what first attracted me to it, after reading a bit about them.

Yes, the tranny does look good. Mine is this one... I saw that one, and I think the main reason I passed it up was that the vendor didn't accept PayPal. DOH! I shall know in future.

That's strange - he certainly accepted PayPal from me. In fact, I don't think an eBay trader can NOT accept PayPal!

Be very wary of published Chinese specifications. That power supply is actually capable of only 2.03 Amps output at 12V. Just over 1A per output as they are separate.
Where they get 12V at 4.5A max from I really can't comprehend. A rather larger supply I think.
Think about it, 12 x 4.5 = 54W. How is that possible from a 30VA transformer? That isn't even taking the conversion losses into account. Most Chinese ads I see fall into the same trap. Take the transformer max current rating and multiply by 0.81 to get a correct figure.
So 2 secondarioes of 1.25A (15/12) = 2.5A x 0.81 = 2.025A
I have also noticed that both supplies shown don't have the case connected to the earth pin. Add a lead to the case folks.

I assume a lead from the input earth to one of the pcb standoffs (they appear to be connected through the case, looking at the available images) will suffice to earth the case?

Add a lead to the case folks. Thanks Alan - could you please clarify for the ignorant like myself, what kind of lead from where to where exactly? As Slinger says the lead should be from the middle earth pin on the mains in connector to a point connected to the chassis. To meet the regulations the lead should really go to a dedicated connection to the case, its own bolt with the anodising scraped away and a star washer to ensure good contact and prevent any chance of loosening.
