Be very wary of published Chinese specifications. That power supply is actually capable of only 2.03 Amps output at 12V. Just over 1A per output as they are separate. Where they get 12V at 4.5A max from I really can't comprehend. A rather larger supply I think. Think about it, 12 x 4.5 = 54W. How is that possible from a 30VA transformer? That isn't even taking the conversion losses into account. Most Chinese ads I see fall into the same trap. Take the transformer max current rating and multiply by 0.81 to get a correct figure. So 2 secondarioes of 1.25A (15/12) = 2.5A x 0.81 = 2.025A I have also noticed that both supplies shown don't have the case connected to the earth pin. Add a lead to the case folks. Most people don't care if its potentially dangerous chief as long as its CHEAP.

It's just a case of checking specs carefully and knowing what you're looking for.
There are lots of excellent items from China and also a lot of poorly spec'd, poorly made and unsafe crap.

Check the specs, as Alan did. Look at the photos, they tell you a lot.

I would also scrutinize the capacitors as quite a few I have looked at are fakes, they claim to be Rubycon's but in fact most of them are not too shabby copies, you can tell by the printing on the caps near the logo.
If you costed these out, unless you were making 1000's of them (You may sell a couple of 100 a year to audiophiles here in the UK absolute maximum) You still could not get anywhere near the initial purchase cost of these unit if you used genuine parts, FFS adecent transformer form a respectable manufacturer will cost around £27-30 for a private individual.
Also Chinese CE certification is not the same as a UK/German CE testing house specification imho.
You pays your money and makes your choice

I've found in the computer industry that Chinese CE marks are often outright fake. We go around PAT testing student laptop chargers and the number that we've had to confiscate due to being dangerous is now into double digits. One fell apart in our hands exposing the mains pins! Fake Apple charger with fake CE mark.
Notwithstanding, let's not tar all Chinese manufacturers with the same brush. Some of them make astonishing products for not a lot of money.

I find that AliExpress tracking only works until it leaves China and goes into the great void. It then reappears, after a period of time calculated to have you believing it's irretrievably gone, on your doorstep.

2019-03-05 20:39:07 [China] Shipment dispatched
2019-03-11 22:03:29 [GMT+8] Shipment at country of origin warehouse
2019-03-11 22:33:29 [GMT+8] Yes, the shipment which was ready for dispatch on the 26 th of February, dispatched, cancelled, and then dispatched again on the 5 th of March was actually ready for dispatch again on the same date (the 5th of March) that it was dispatched but was not dispatched until the 11 th of March, where it arrived, 30 seconds later, at the " country of origin warehouse." After deciphering yet another set of tracking information, a word (information) which I'm using here in its loosest sense, " Shipment dispatched" seemingly also means " Accepted by carrier," and " Shipment at country of origin warehouse" is some sort of code for " Inbound in sorting center" Singapore Post, the carrier, still doesn't have the tracking number in their system. I live in hope that it may reach the airport sometime soon, and then begin its inevitable circling of the Guangdong shipping offices in some sort of demented holding pattern - possibly until somebody draws my tracking number out of a hat.

Hi Paul
You really seem to be having the crap with this delivery, I ordered a couple or these type of PSU units last Monday for customers, they are due in to the office on Tuesday, I know they are landing tomorrow, customs have contacted us for the vat and import charges this afternoon.
Sometimes you can get lucky, other times the bear get you, hope it all pans out for you in the not too distant future.

Cheers, Tony, but this is pretty common when ordering from AliExpress, I just thought it'd be fun to list all of the points of contact this time. The last PSU I ordered actually left Guangdong airport and travelled to Guangdong airport about 3 times, hence my comment this time. ...and I really don't want HMRC to contact me about import charges.
