Our open barn type garage has been blocked for a very long time by a huge jumbo bag of compost and wood left over from the roof being repaired Worked out this stops me sorting all the stuff in there. Compost is now gone. Wood to be sorted *then* I get into the rest of it

The question has to be asked, Mike. Why did you repair the roof with compost?

The more I get rid of the more I find to sort. Looks too much sometimes This bloke has good ideas on decluttering Recommended
He has a few different ideas to get around the 'impossibility' of it all EG. Do the easy stuff first, not necessarily in any order Anything that goes into the right place, is binned, donated or sold is at least a tick in the box for me
Here's a sample of his outlook

We know this but...
Watched a YT clip on decluttering, didn't note it at the time
Woman walks into a pretty empty room.. Pulls the door back and there we see a vacuum cleaner. Only on view when the door is closed
Gave me an idea for a 4 hook coat hanger Now installed on the back of our bedroom door. Clothes now hung up and easily available, but invisible most of the time

I'm still looking forward to getting a skip in September and chucking out everything that's not going to move with us.

I hate throwing stuff away. Happy to spend some time on Freecycle and even happier to see some of the collectees when they collect. Could you start now with some stuff on Freecycle ? BTW Seems that man and a van set ups are less than a skip and way more flexible the.lovejunk.com/and they will quote From examples some items Zero collection as they sell them on

I will take things like batteries and electronics (Sky box) to household recycling for correct disposal.
A few things might go on Gumtree. However, I have lost patience with people who promise to come and don't. I'm no longer going to be locked into staying home all day for them.
Starting now when we're both at work is not going to happen, and we're not going to wreck the little time we have together by having people call at random times in the evening.
