Your connection is not private Attackers might be trying to steal your information from hirouter.net (for example, passwords, messages or credit cards). Learn more Routers generally connect with http (insecure) connection. Huawei use a kind of proxy to connect to your router. It's fairly common and not worth worrying about. You can change the password if you want.

20Mbps download today on the old ZTE 11 on the new '4G+' Huawei Disappointing
Yet to move the new one around the house to see if I can improve it from my now preferred router position

What speeds did Three suggest you would get Mike?

Not suggested or asked. Assumption was for faster
Previous favourite position yields 0.62Mbps
Old ZTE gives 19

That is baffling, Mike. Nothing obvious comes to mind except perhaps that the ZTE is better at reception than the Huawei, but 4G and 4G+ are different standards. Certainly my Sercomm pulls in terrific speeds from a 25% signal strength indication. The Huawei used to show 50% and pull lower speeds. Could be different masts.

Would be interesting to ask Three what they think you should be getting...

Phone call to Three shop Remove the new router from the list of networks and reinstall
Can't "Forget" won't work As a test I removed /Forgot the old ZTE router and put that back in
Download on the old ZTE is now also rubbish 2.9Mbps
Three say all fine locally for 4G
Googling for removing the router says find the web address and delete it there. Don't fancy that much Is there an easier way ?
Such a simple task I put up my hands if I'm at fault but I bet the technology is at fault

Back to the title - Ditch landline and use mobile broadband
Either choice leaves one with the decisions of the supplier
Swapping between my old and new router currently gives me downloads of between 2 and 15Mbps
A while back I was peaking at nearly 40Mbps on the old ZTE
Need to investigate new router settings and see if I can improve it Fun for some

Someone is screwing with things and I can't think who. Changes at the mast, or a change of mast to a more distant one?
See if you can find out what maintenance is scheduled. There is an app called Network Cell Info Lite that features a Map view that shows you which mast your phone is connected to. Take a screenshot.
Go to the Three store and show them.

Download 925mbps Upload 820mbps Yes, we've had the line but only used it for Broadband since 2010! Or was it even earlier. Fixed phone not even plugged in. No spam / fraud calls - 99.99% of them were on the landline. Back in the day it was constant.

Never thought of reporting. Must do that too Most of mine are thick Indian accent, dead giveaway. Sometimes I can't understand them

Rang Woking shop about the new router Told me to bring it in Thought about that. Hmm left it a few days Looking at that router on tinterweb it seems not fit for purpose.
Rang Three tech support instead. On the phone for 1 hour and 9 minutes to resolve As I suspected we do *not* have 4G plus around Third young lady said she would swap it out for me - great Can I have a Sercomm ? None in stock What if I wait ? Don't know when (if ?) we will get it in ZTE MC801A 5G suggested and accepted after confirming it will do 4G Chunky looking
Checked just now Speed on our old ZTE 12 down, 2.7 up Brand new ZTE MC801A 1.9 down, 1.1 up Moving it around to see if that might improve
Next door on old Huawei and fixed outdoor aerial Download: 30-40 Mbps Upload: 5-10 Mbps
Work in progress

I just checked mine with Speedtest as I often do: 215Mbps download. I've NEVER had such a high figure before.
Ran it again and got 180. That's bloomin' fast for 4G+.

You do have 'challenging' signals there, Mike.
