Nick's philosophy of single rather than arrayed output transistors reads well, as does the large power supply arrangement.
Your experience mirrors mine: brute force power amplifier numbers mean almost nothing. You moved from Magtech to P6 (I did try a Magtech once and the Chord beat it), I moved from Chord at 650Wpc to the Belles at 200Wpc and I have the same almost limitless grunt available that makes the Chord sound lightweight. High current ability and big power supplies rule!

The TAD says 500Wpc but I cannot think I could ever play it that load
Volume readout goes to 178 Have rarely had it at 160 and that is *stunningly* loud

I’ve found it’s good to have headroom. And good quality watts. And amps as I’ve recently discovered.
It’s funny, I can’t imagine amps sounding a whole lot better than the P6s - I’m not saying it’s impossible, it’s just hard to imagine. And all of this through the little Ushers.
Back to plans - that’s next for me, a kick arse pair of floor standers.

I am about to make some OCC speaker leads and am expecting great things.
The problem is the length (equate cost), because the speakers are suspended I need 7-8 metres. I am keeping the lengths the same so am making up two 8 metre leads.

Of course, there's a simple solution - why not get the amp up there on suspenders too?!

Ah, why didn't I think of that?
I could move the amp up to the top shelf of the rack, hmm I think that is a good idea. I have terminated them with gold plated Z plugs. They certainly convey more space and ambiance information, I'm well pleased.
Is there posh OCC cable?
