Interesting experiments with spotify which can be quite hit and miss, just like vinyl ...  Some old albums like my Toto favourites sound really weedy compared to vinyl. Then you put on something like Prince, Purple Rain, and it’s a different ball game, especially the 2015 remaster which really rocks. |

I read about certain powerbanks squashing dynamics etc and mucking up the sound when used with a pi - think I got a bit lucky with this one but I've not done exhaustive A/B testing, sounds good to my ears ... |

Interesting! Not seen a wireless charger like that before ...
Have you got a USB 5V / 2A mains charger handy? Much quicker than using the computer USB port ...

That toto album on virtually all streaming services is truly pants
The cd from 2002 I feel I need my magnifying glass to check it sorry print is very small really is very good

Interesting experiments with spotify which can be quite hit and miss, just like vinyl ... I agree. Old albums are in the main pretty good, but there are some exceptions that sound flat and lifeless. As Tony noted, if they sound poor on Spotify they tend to sound poor on Qobuz, too. |

Here is my digital system as it stands. You will see the addition of the Chinese RVC as recommended by Jerry - apart from a bust remote it's an extremely competent unit and I'm very happy with it so far. Outstanding value for money at around £110 delivered. Helpful seller as well. Somewhere between China and the UK a new linear psu for the Topping is making its way through the skies. Hope to get it before Xmas!  |

Very nice, Jules. The linear PSU should help the DAC as they are very sensitive to power quality.
The RVC looks to be very good value indeed.

I just popped over to visit Jules and pick up some stuff I leant him. We sat down and listened to some early Heart Vandeberg and some wonderful Cello music. The system has really settled in and sounded really food what it did to Cello music was beautiful
I was surprised how well the battery powerpack was working it did not seem to be adding any noise. The preamp is very good indeed, A really musical sound
